One of my favorite things about April is the promise of what’s coming.
Baseball season returns, the NFL Draft kicks off, and suddenly football season feels just a little bit closer. ⚾🏈
For me, sports have always been more than just games.
They’re Friday night lights in a small town where everyone gathers under the same stadium glow.
They’re Saturdays cheering on Ohio State Buckeyes with family.
They’re Sundays faithfully watching the Cleveland Browns — celebrating the wins and surviving the losses.
And maybe that’s why it fits so well with Real & Rooted with Grace & Grit.
Because being rooted means loving the traditions that bring us together.
Being full of grit means showing up even when things don’t go your way.
And grace? Well… sometimes grace is the only thing that gets us Browns fans through another fourth quarter. 😉
This time of year just feels like home to me.
So tell me — what football team do you love to watch?
High school, college, or pro?

📚 What I’m Reading Right Now…
Just cracked open “Beautiful Ugly” by Alice Feeney—and wow, I can already tell this one is going to be a ride.
There’s something about a book that pulls you in from the first few pages… the kind where you say “just one more chapter” and suddenly it’s way past your bedtime. This feels like that kind of book.
Between everything going on in life, I’ve been trying to carve out more time to slow down and get lost in a story again—and this one might be exactly what I needed.
If you’ve read it, don’t spoil it… but tell me—am I in for a twisty one? 👀

Not everyone takes the traditional path in life… and that’s okay. Actually, it’s more than okay—it’s powerful.
I didn’t start college right out of high school. I didn’t have it all figured out in my 20s. Life looked different for me—family, career, responsibilities. But somewhere along the way, I decided I wasn’t done growing.
So I went back. In my 40s.
And on May 22, 2029, my title will change from Mrs. to Dr.
I also started writing—something I’ve always dreamed of but never made time for until now. Turns out, it’s never too late to become the person you’ve always wanted to be.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
You don’t have to follow someone else’s timeline.
You don’t have to shrink yourself to fit expectations.
And you are never “less than” because your path looks different.
Make a plan. Take the first step. Then the next.
Check things off one at a time.
Your story is still being written—and it’s yours to decide how it goes. 💫
