Timing:
Hi! For our second patio dining experience, we carefully chose the time. Setting our 3 month old puppy up for success is important. It is also important to take the other diners into consideration.
So we chose 4:30 pm where there would be people but not crazy busy and overwhelming. As always, we were prepared with yummy treats and his mat. I am so proud of him!!

Preparation counts!! Make sure you bring what you need in order to set your pup up for success!
Today I went to an outdoor, dog friendly patio for a training day and to meet a friend of Mom's. My mom brought treats... high value and medium value. She also had a stocked "puppy" bag with my mat, a couple toys and a chew that I love!! She even had a fun bowl of water for me to play with :) Bravo Mom!! I had fun with all the new people and happily slept on my mat!

Exploration Walks: Do not have a specific time frame or destination. They are about experiencing new things (including his first stroller), being a dog, and for us, a little bit of focus and a lot of practice giving into leash pressure. :) Since he is only 3 months old, our walks are very short and fun... today was the park!!

Practicing doing nothing is one of the most important things to do with your puppy or dog. Your puppy needs to learn that he or she does not always have to be involved. Doesn't always have to meet people. Doesn't always have to chase birds and squirrels. Doesn't always have to run up to other dogs or be concerned about bikes or cars. Your puppy needs to learn how to do nothing and be happy.
