To the sun's last kiss.

There's something eternally gratifying about watching the sun set on any given day. The ever-changing colors grounding you squarely in the moment and making you conscious of each passing second.

It's even better watching the sun dip behind a town like Bol.

Not a bad place to spend a weekend.

No wind, calm sea and the sun casting long shadows.

Early morning at the famed Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn, just outside the town of Bol on the isle of Brač.

Tough to beat the Adriatic.

to City of Zagreb Day!

Or the feast of Our Lady of Stone Gate.

I should've probably posted a photo of the Stone Gate but it was totally covered up/being worked on the last time I saw it a few weeks ago...and I don't have any actual good photos of it from before 🤷‍♂️

So you'll have to settle for St. Marks Church which is just up the hill and I think a better symbol of the city anyhow.

Gotta say, after visiting hundreds of cities, this one is right up there near the top of my list. Can't get enough of it.

to my new hometown.

Moved to Split for the summer and, um, wow.

Haven't had a chance to really get out and shoot much yet but the oof is off the charts.

Come visit :)

to framing.

In order to take nice photos, you need to frame them right.

In order to overcome obstacles en route to leading a life you love, you need to frame them right.

How we see the world and what's in front of us, as obstacles or opportunities, fundamentally informs our reactions and ultimately the degree of our fulfillment.

You really can create deeper meaning out of anything, even some photos from a casual stroll around the lake.

I posted this on LinkedIn earlier today but it felt pretty Grammy and I think the message is relevant so resharing here.

to the simple things.

We have a tendency to get pretty wrapped up in the trivial. Ascribing import to that which doesn't mean all that much, which won't be memorable 5 days from now - let alone 5 years - and drowning in it. Prisoners of places, people, thoughts, things, situations and moments.

Even more so these days.

Perspective isn't the easiest to come by but one of the best ways to happen on it is to remove yourself from the artificial.

Take a walk.

Stop and watch the water fall from time to time.

to a walk in the park.

After a prolonged and locked in sort of winter, getting out of the city and over to these magical lakes was a treat.

The trees aren't quite fully greened out just yet but still absolutely stunning nonetheless and the trails are *immaculately* maintained. Wow. Basically artwork.

A pure joy.

Get there asap and beat the crowds.

(protip: get in there first thing in the morning and you'll feel like you have the place to yourself...silver lining of covid I guess)

to endless isles.

Croatia is a land dripping with islands. 1,244 to be exact. 

And you'd *think* the coast was where you'd have to go to see them all but it turns out they had so many out there that they tossed a few inland.

What you're looking at here is Otok Ljubavi - island of love (lemme know if I got that wrong) - in the 'ol "Zagreb Sea", or Jarun Lake.

Unreal.

I thought this shade of azure water was reserved for the Caribbean or Southeast Asia, turns out Zagreb has it too.

(you'll still find me on the coast this summer though 🤷‍♂️)
