We have a new bright natural coffee from Peru!

This coffee comes from the Asociacion de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto, also known as El Palto. It's a coffee cooperative located in the Amazonian Andes of northern Peru. In operation since 2003, the co-op has grown from 35 to 189 members, and the area of production now spans 549 hectares. Women producers represent 40 of the co-op’s families, including a consistent representation on the Board of Directors. All of the farms in the co-op produce organic and Fair-Trade Certified coffee.

El Palto’s mission is to produce the highest-quality coffee while also improving the lives of its members. Harvest of this particular coffee begins with the careful selection of fully ripe cherries, followed by careful sorting for quality. It is then taken to the mill, where it is processed naturally on raised beds, hulled, sorted, and stored for export. The Association's mission is "to meet the demand of our buyers in specialty coffee allowing an increase in income for the farmer member and his family". Exactly the standards we look for when sourcing coffees!
