Loved this year's Council for Adult and Experiential Learning Conference in Cleveland. I enjoyed providing input at the listening session with new President Marie Cini. She is going to be great for the organization!

Facilitated the first Institute for The Learning Organization with my colleague Michele Decker at Central Oregon Community College. Four community colleges and a University sent faculty. Great active learning about outcomes and assessment. Can't wait to facilitate the 2019 Institute.

Attended CSHRM SIG on Learning and Development. Evan Ishida and his colleagues at Thrive at Work shared how to build a learning culture.This aligns with the work I've been doing on learner mindsets. It's great to be with colleagues who are focusing on learning and its impact to organizations.

I love helping Community Colleges rethink their curriculum. Visual mapping provides the best way to see the current state of a program so the learner's journey can be examined with the goal to make improvements and ensure it is aligned with its intended outcomes.

Had a great session presenting to a job seekers group at Lorain County Community College about using reflection to improve their interviewing. Thanks to Cyndi McCabe for inviting me and helping people with their job search efforts. We need more career counselors like her.

Glad to have been recruited on Veteran's day to meet the train in Peninsula that was carrying veteran's and their families. Dressing up as an elf and marching with the toy soldier that encourage me to join with him is a memory I will not forget. Planning is great, but spontaneity has its benefits as well.

Meeting Thought Leaders inspires me. It was great meeting James Kirkpatrick and learning how he is building and re-shaping his father' s legacy - the four levels of training and evaluation. Thanks to the local ATD chapter for sponsoring this event.

Congratulations to Dr. Christina Royal on reaching a milestone in her career and her first College presidency. Glad to be able to attend the inauguration ceremony with other colleagues who have been part of the journey. It's important to make time to recognize accomplishments.

The best test of team work is sailing. Our team took first place in our class. Happy to be part of this team for the last 5 years.
