LUNA returns to the GROG SHOP this Wednesday. We were just advised by our dear friends at the GROG that there are only a few tickets left. So if you are interested in attending, you better act now. If you are going to the show, why not get there early for a special pre-show DJ set by our main man John Callahan. Come celebrate the GROG SHOP’s 34th anniversary. We are always excited to see Luna perform. We first saw them 31 years ago at the OG Grog and haven’t missed a gig since then.

The Waterloo Arts Festival was held this past Saturday. Thousands came through the street. But this dude, with his dog-themed battle jacket won the runway’s best dressed award. Fido (sorry. I didn’t get your name) had it goin’ on BIG TIME. Cheers Dude!

Yesterday, I learned that we lost a legend of the Cleveland music scene, Cheetah Chrome. I had the honor to meet him a couple of times. He was friendly and genuine. This first photo taken in 2013 when he and Alejandro Escovedo were gracious enough to play along with Blue Arrow Records’ “EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH SERIES.” The last photographs presented here are from Cleveland Bob Ferrell. According to Bob, the shot of Stiv and Cheetah was taken at SPANKYS in North Ridgeville in July 1977. The one with all of the Dead Boys was taken at Chippewa Lake in June of 1977. The fantastic photo of Cheetah and Iggy Pop was taken outside of Swingos Keg and Quarter in November of 1977. Bob texted me the last photo last night. I am not sure when that was taken.

Deepest sympathies to Cheetah’s family and friends. May his memory continue to be a blessing to all who loved him.

The annual Waterloo Arts Festival will be held this Saturday, September 12th from noon to 7 pm. As usual, the Waterloo Alley Cat Project will be having their garage sale in front of the BLUE ARROW RECORDS shop. Among many other items that will be available, we have donated 100s of CDs to their sale.

Blue Arrow Records will be open all day. As an added bonus, we will have guest DJs on the decks all day.

Sadly, David Fair died on Saturday, August 29th at the age of 74. David co-founded the band HALF JAPANESE with his younger brother Jad. REST IN PEACE DAVID FAIR. Deepest sympathies to Jad and all of David’s family and friends.

“HOLY HELL.” Rhonda is blown away by this fantastic gift from Mike Shea It is Ruffian Books massive brand new book “Anarchy In The Studio: Punk Music 1970-1979 | The Rise of Punk Rock.”
The love for the subject matter is quite evident beginning with the custom made mailing box (created by Mike himself). As we open the box, we find the book elegantly gift wrapped with a punk rock themed paper. Rhonda carefully opened that to find inside the book that are bonus fliers and a letter from Mike himself. A quick flip through the book, and we see beautifully laid out graphics and thorough content over 500 plus pages. If you need one of these, I suggest that you head over to RUFFIANBOOKS.COM and order one yourself.

This is currently my favorite DEFACED ALBUM COVER from Greg Wooten’s amazing collection on exhibit Sixty Bowls Gallery gallery. For me, there so much to like about. First there is Paul with clown makeup eyes; the DEEP PURPLE shirt cuffs. The other rock band names all over. The hands sticking out from behind the trunk. And how about John’s BLACK SABBATH and UFO SOCKS. George gets a beard and Paul Stanley Star makeup, whilst proudly rocking an Aerosmith shirt and THE WHO jacket. Ring also rocks a beard and Aerosmith jacket. So much humor all over.
