Are you wondering what kind of job you will have when you graduate?

Have you ever thought of high school teaching as a career? Did you know that you can take a 1-credit class (with no pre-requisites) this coming fall and experience teaching in a local school?

This class, known as Step 1, is the first education class in our CSUteach secondary education licensure program. It is an exploratory class designed to allow you to “try out teaching.” It is free for full-time students taking less than 18 credits.

In addition to a weekly class meeting, you will be assigned to a local school for 2 hours per week for approximately 9 weeks at a time that fits in with your schedule depending on school availability due to Covid19 restrictions. You will work with a partner, observe and assist your mentor teacher, and co-teach 2 lessons to the students.

You can take all of the education classes along with your existing degree and graduate with 7-12 teaching license in addition to your degree, giving you an additional career option.

For further information, please contact Courtney Glover in the College of Education and Human Services advising center ([email protected], 216-523-7576) for further information.
