LEDI’s is located in Cleveland, Ohio, Atlanta, Georgia and throughout Liberia, West Africa.
Our vision is to establish and promote meaningful social and economic development in order to empower the poor and disadvantaged people of Liberia. Reducing poverty, changing lives… is not just our motto, it is the heart of our mission. Whether we are empowering youth, providing small business loans, promoting health and safety, building infrastructure, or alleviating the sufferings of rural and urban poor and low income household, our central focus remains to reduce poverty, thereby positively changing the lives of members of the nearly two-third Liberian population living below the poverty line.

This week in Liberia, hundreds of women are gaining access to savings groups, seed funding, and entrepreneurship training.
Young business owners are being prepared to become investment-ready. And at Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) we keep thinking about the psychology behind that. Somewhere in Liberia today is a woman with an idea.
She knows her customers.
She understands her community's needs.
She knows how hard she's willing to work.
What she may lack is capital, the right introduction, or someone willing to say, I believe this can work.
Often, the difference between potential and progress isn't talent; it's an opportunity, and we've learned this through Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) work.
When you support a student's education, you aren't rescuing a student. You're investing in what she might become.
When you support a woman building a business, you're not simply giving her money. You're giving an idea the chance to generate income, independence, and perhaps opportunities for other people.
When you invest in healthcare, you're not just funding a statistic. You're helping someone stay healthy enough to raise a family, earn a living, and contribute to the community.
If you had $10,000 to invest in Liberia today, where would you allocate it, education, healthcare, a woman-owned business, youth entrepreneurship, or something else? And why?
We want you to tell us, we may learn something from your answer.

This week, Liberia has reason to celebrate.
Maternal syphilis screening has increased from just 8% in 2020 to nearly 80% today. Let's reflect on what lies behind that number.
A pregnant woman who gets tested early.
A health worker equipped to take action.
A baby starting life healthier.
Years of community engagement, system building, and a refusal to accept that preventable illness should determine a child's future.
This is what progress means to us at Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) but the uncomfortable truth is that, as Liberia celebrates these achievements, international funding for women's and maternal health is becoming increasingly uncertain, raising a question much bigger than any single organization.
Who protects progress when the funding that helped create it begins to fade? At LEDI, we think about this a lot because these communities shouldn't have to start from zero every time the world's focus shifts elsewhere.
A scholarship shouldn't vanish because a funding cycle ends.
A health program shouldn't lose momentum because priorities change thousands of miles away.
A young entrepreneur shouldn't miss out because yesterday's donor has turned their attention to tomorrow's crisis.
Sustainable change requires something more enduring, people who choose to stay.
Individuals.
Businesses.
Foundations.
Communities.
At Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) we work with people who understand that the progress built here shouldn't disappear.
Maybe that's a different way to view philanthropy.
We genuinely want to hear your thoughts, as traditional development funding declines, who should bear more responsibility for sustaining progress, governments, businesses, philanthropy, communities, or all of us?
