The Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse has stayed lit continuously for all its 101 years, so it’s still maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard as an active navigation aid. It’s a prime location for the salt and gravel industries.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home brings keeper Sheila Consaul, a Washington, D.C., resident, to the small town of Fairport Harbor every summer. The brick and steel walls maintain an industrial feel, but the space is livened with colorful walls, bright windows, updated appliances and nautical-inspired decor.
Around its anniversary, Consaul invites the public to see the lighthouse with an annual open house, happening this year on Saturday, June 6 from noon-4 p.m.

With a seasonally rotating inventory sized for children, older adults and everyone in between, Sanity aims to offer women outfit options that make them feel confident and comfortable. The women and girls benefiting from Sanity’s donations through I Support the Girls gain that same sense of stability ahead of their next period or simply their next morning getting dressed, making their access to essentials streamlined rather than situational.
Sanity owner Isabel Pritchett prides herself on the collaboration as much as the other core values of her stores. She likes to see the network of donors and recipients grow organically.
