A new gathering space in Ohio City-

The W 29th Street Closure project has commenced in our Hingetown | Ohio City Enclave neighborhood. Road closure blockades are now in place on the section of W 29th from Transformer Station to the Firehouse.

This project began with a temporary closure in August of 2024 as an effort by the City of Cleveland to make neighborhoods more enjoyable and accessible for pedestrians with the goal of making it a Street for People — a street that is open for public use free of car traffic.

The W. 29th Street closure project is funded by a Project for Public Spaces Community Placemaking Grant to the City of Cleveland.

Thanks to our neighborhood partners and W 29th Street Closure Steering committee for bringing this project to life.

Stop by for programming and family fun all summer long!

GROUP CYCLING SAFETY! Bicycle group rides are happening all over Greater Cleveland now that summer is in full swing. Group riders must depend on each other for their own safety to avoid crashing into one another. Here are three rules to consider for safer riding in groups.
1. No Irish goodbyes. When you leave the group, inform them you are leaving! Then drop to the back or take the front and let them know you'll be turning off.
2. No abrupt stops or turns on downhills. If you're riding with a group and you're going to be turning off on a downhill and leaving the group, let them know beforehand! Then, again, drop to the back of the group so that no one is shocked or surprised when you put the brakes on to turn.
3. If another rider in front misses the turn, don't make the turn and then suddenly stop to yell for the lost rider. Other riders coming behind are also making that turn and could easily run into you. If you want to alert that rider, keep going until you catch or hail that rider. Then turn around and rejoin the group.
Be safe and remember group riding safety depends on each member of the group!

New traffic calming measures installed at W. 58th & Lorain Avenue. This location was the scene of a fatal crash last year. We are eager to see more changes like this, and thank Councilman Austin Davis for funding this project.
