Breakthrough Public Schools

Day 1 of the Teach For America Anniversary Summit was full of connection, inspiration, and big conversations about education’s next chapter of education.

We loved connecting with fellow educators, leaders, alumni, and partners—and sharing a little Cleveland pride along the way.

And the energy at Booth 401? 🔥 We met so many incredible people, swapped stories, handed out plenty of Breakthrough swag, and connected with people who care deeply about students and the future of education.

We’re just getting started. Bring on Day 2!

🎉Breakthrough has arrived in Las Vegas!

We’re proud to celebrate 35 years of Teach For America alongside educators, leaders, and changemakers from across the country. Some of our Breakthrough educators, who were also TFA corps members, are here to reconnect with fellow corps alumni, share ideas, and think together about what’s next for education and scholars.

📍 Come visit us at Booth 401! Stop by, say hello, and connect with the Breakthrough team!

Help your child learn at home! 📚 🔢

We’re excited to see our CEO, Dr. Andrew McRae, take the stage at the Teach For America 35th Anniversary Summit in Las Vegas this weekend!

Andrew will explore a question that sits at the heart of our work at Breakthrough:

How do we build organizations worthy of extraordinary people’s commitment?

Thirty-five years after Teach For America began calling leaders to meaningful work, the challenge now is not only bringing great educators into the field—it’s creating the conditions that allow them to stay, grow, lead, and change the world.

At Breakthrough, we’re committed to building schools and an organization where talented people can do their best work, experience both high expectations and high support, and grow as leaders.

We’re proud to have Andrew representing Breakthrough in this important conversation and look forward to learning alongside educators and leaders from across the TFA community.

See you this weekend in Vegas!

Last week, Beyond Breakthrough, a Friends of Breakthrough program, brought alumni from the 2009–2015 classes together again to reminisce, reflect, laugh, and chat about what's to come. 💜

Alums caught up with classmates, learned about each other's journeys, and celebrated the goals they've reached and achievements they've earned since Breakthrough. They also met others in similar fields, explored shared interests, and built new connections while strengthening old ones.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We're proud of all our alums' accomplishments, grateful to keep supporting them long after graduation, and can't wait to see what they do next.

Yesterday, we celebrated all the dads and dad-like figures who joined us for the Cuyahoga County Father’s Walk! 💜

Thank you for showing up, cheering on our scholars, and helping make the start of the school day extra special. We’re grateful for the many fathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and caring adults who support our scholars every day!

Join us for our Family Literacy & Numeracy Session! Families will learn about the reading, writing, and math skills students are working on at school, as well as ways you can help them learn at home.

What a first week! 💜

We loved welcoming all of our K–8 scholars back last week and seeing our schools filled with big smiles, new beginnings, learning, laughter, and community.

Week 1 was a great start—and we’re ready for an even better Week 2!
