Rowing builds more than strong athletes—it builds confident young women. Watching these athletes push themselves, support each other, and celebrate every stroke reminds us that the lessons learned on the water last a lifetime. Here’s to the next generation of strong, determined rowers. 💜🚣🏻♀️
Nothing beats watching students from Open Doors Academy discover the Cuyahoga River, cheer each other on, and try rowing for the very first time. The smiles say it all.
A huge thank you to the The Port of Cleveland for helping make these unforgettable summer experiences possible. Together, we’re opening doors, building confidence, and creating lifelong connections to our river.

For 30 years, the Head of the Cuyahoga has brought thousands of athletes, volunteers, families, and fans together on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. 💙🚣
This year, we're celebrating that incredible legacy, and we're inviting you to be part of it.
If the Head of the Cuyahoga has ever been part of your story—as a rower, coach, volunteer, sponsor, or spectator—we hope you'll consider making a gift to help us celebrate our 30th Anniversary and invest in the future of this hometown tradition.
Every gift supports the athletes, volunteers, safety operations, and race experience that make HOTC one of the nation's premier regattas.
As a thank you, everyone who donates $75 or more will receive a limited-edition 30th Anniversary HOTC T-shirt—available only through this campaign and never sold at the regatta.
Every gift moves us forward.

Back on the water—and making waves.
This week, one of our NE OARS athletes took to the Cuyahoga for just the second time. It's a great reminder that rowing really can be a sport for everyone.
NE OARS has become an important part of the Cleveland Rowing Foundation community, creating opportunities for veterans and athletes with disabilities to get on the water and experience all that rowing has to offer.
Through a partnership with the VA Spinal Cord Injury Unit, participants use rowing as part of their rehabilitation journey—building strength, confidence, independence, and a connection to the river that runs through our city.
Programs like NE OARS show what's possible when access, community, and opportunity come together. We're proud to support this work and excited to see where the next stroke takes them.

🚣 Volunteer opportunities are here!
Starting next week, we’ll welcome our Open Doors Academy middle school students back to the river for another incredible summer of rowing.
If you’re part of the Cleveland Rowing Foundation community, we’d love your help! WRRA members should check their email for volunteer sign-up opportunities. Scholastic and collegiate rowers interested in volunteering can reach out to their coaches for more information.
It takes our entire rowing community to make these experiences possible. Thank you for helping introduce the next generation to the Mighty Cuyahoga!
