We will be celebrating and honoring our resilient neighbors and community members at the RSC’s annual World Refugee Day Picnic. 🧺

Yesterday, our team had the honor of accepting a donation from the . USCRI CLE was selected as their non-profit partner for March and April, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment and compassion for welcoming and supporting Cleveland’s newcomers! Thank you!

Our last cycle is officially complete 🎉 Because of our amazing community we’re proud to donate $475.34 to the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. Thank you for helping us support immigrant and refugee communities in Cleveland and beyond! 💛

233 families fed. 150+ volunteer hours.

Week after week, USCRI Cleveland volunteers load their cars with groceries and head out to deliver food to newcomer families who lost SNAP benefits and are struggling to put meals on the table.

Since late 2024, they’ve shown up every single week, delivering pantry staples, fresh produce, and protein directly to families’ doorsteps. Because when support is taken away, our communities show up.

Eid Mubarak! Wishing a joyful and blessed Eid to all who celebrate. As many gather in celebration, millions around the world remain displaced, forced to flee their homes due to conflict beyond their control. The freedom to practice one’s religion safely is a basic human right, and one that must always be protected.

This Women’s History Month, we honor trailblazers like Edith Terry Bremer, whose compassion led to the founding of U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. Today, women and girls are disproportionately affected by displacement — facing heightened risks and barriers to safety, education, and opportunity. A reported memo would allow DHS to arrest and detain lawfully admitted refugees who haven't yet secured green cards within a year of arrival. These refugees were thoroughly vetted by the U.S. government before arrival. With support from USCRI once they reached the United States, many are now rebuilding their lives across American communities.

Tens of thousands could be affected. This follows earlier re-vetting measures that have already created serious instability for refugee families.

Policies like this create fear, unnecessary detention, and prolonged uncertainty for the communities we serve, and they erode America’s tradition of welcoming those fleeing persecution, violence, and war.

We are incredibly grateful to a very generous and talented donor who hand‑knit over 70 much‑needed scarves for our clients. Your kindness, creativity, and dedication will help keep so many newcomers in Cleveland warm this winter.
