Herny LoConti is from the band LoConti, a seven-piece rock/funk band from Cleveland, Ohio. Their sound blends alternative rock with elements of funk, jazz, and soul—built on tight rhythms, layered guitars, saxophone, and melodic vocals. The band began as a group of self-taught friends, playing bar gigs and house parties while learning each other’s musical language. In 2023, they released their debut album *Cherry Red*, recorded in a Cleveland home studio. That same year, they were named Best New Artist by the Cleveland Music Awards, followed by Best Band in 2024 from *Cleveland Scene*. They released their second album *Reflections* in 2024 and began touring regionally, exploring deeper grooves and heavier drum and bass-driven textures.

The move to our new building, previously occupied by the Lorain Theater, marked the completion of a historic redevelopment effort. The building was redesigned for the bookstore’s exclusive use, while important historical details and architectural fixtures were preserved and incorporated. This expanded and revitalized location allowed us to triple our inventory of new and used books, add a cafe with specialty espresso drinks and food offerings, and offer events from poetry readings to live music on the original stage.
We have worked very hard this year on making a beautiful and welcoming space please vote for us via this link: https://vote.clevescene.com
And we encourage you to support other local favorites while voting!

Roots of American Music continues its new Masters of American Music series—an ongoing concert and storytelling experience celebrating the artists who shaped the foundations of American music.
⏰8:30 PM - 10:00 PM
📋 Wednesday June 24
📍4601 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, Ohio
For the fourth program in this series, Taylor Lamborn will perform the music of Bonnie Raitt.
A celebrated singer, songwriter, and slide guitarist, Bonnie Raitt has spent decades blending blues, folk, rock, and roots traditions into a singular American sound. Known for songs like “Something to Talk About,” “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” and “Love Sneakin’ Up On You,” her influence reaches far beyond performance alone.
Taylor Lamborn is deeply inspired not only by Bonnie Raitt’s musicianship and guitar playing, but also by her fierce advocacy work. Throughout her career, Raitt has consistently used her platform to champion artists, workers, and communities—particularly those whose contributions form the bedrock of American music traditions. That spirit closely mirrors the mission of ROOTS: lifting up foundational American artists whose influence can still be heard in nearly every genre of music today.
A celebrated Cleveland songwriter, guitarist, songwriter, and longtime staple of the regional blues scene, Taylor Lamborn was named the new Executive Director of ROOTS in December after years of serving as both a Teaching Artist and performer with the organization.
As both artist and Executive Director, Taylor brings a uniquely personal connection to this performance and to the mission behind the Masters of American Music series. More than a tribute concert, this evening offers audiences a window into the worlds of songwriting, performance, and musical stewardship, while also providing insight into the future vision of ROOTS—one grounded in tradition, education, community, and the enduring legacy of American roots music.
