Second International Friendship Orientation of the semester. The students and the hosts seem to be enjoying their dinner with a fun game!

Over 40 alumni, staff and faculty volunteers signed up to host a CWRU international student for 2016-2017. Hosts and students meet each other at our first orientation on Sunday.

Join the Chinese Student and Scholar Association for its annual Chinese New Year Gala Sunday, Feb. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Thwing Center ballroom.

The festival will feature authentic Chinese food, performances and more. Much of this festival is conducted in Chinese.

Tickets are available for purchase online.

We hope that all our hosts and international students have a great year in 2016!

Our next event will be the annual Martin Luther King Concert at Severance Hall on Saturday, January 16 at 7pm.

Join us on campus for cookies and coffee, between 5:30 and 6:30pm, just before the concert. Location TBD, on campus, close to Severance Hall.

The concert is free! But tickets "sell out" on January 4, the first day you can reserve tickets.

Interested? Next steps:

1) Contact your host or international student. See if they want to go with you.

2) Determine which of you will reserve tickets at 9am on January 4. Tickets will be gone by 12noon, so start at 9am! You can call (216-231-1111) , order online at the website above, or in person at the box office. You can reserve up to 4 tickets.

3) RSVP to Liz ([email protected]) to let us know if you got tickets, if you will join us for coffee and cookies before the concert.

A few of us program coordinators will be reserving 4 tickets each. So we may have some extra tickets to offer you, if you are not successful at getting tickets in the morning in January 4.
