Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and marks an important moment in our nation’s history.
At MWCDO, we recognize Juneteenth as more than a date on the calendar. It is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice, equity, and freedom.
We believe the celebration of Black history, culture, and resilience should be uplifted not only today, but every day.
We encourage our community to continue honoring this legacy by supporting and investing in Black communities, amplifying Black voices, and working together toward lasting change.

Learning how to care for your home starts with having the right tools, knowledge, and support.
Over the past few weeks, residents have been building confidence and learning practical skills through our Beginner Summer Home Repair Workshop Series. From power tool safety to carpentry and drywall basics, participants have gained hands-on experience they can use to maintain and improve their homes.
A special thank you to the Home Repair Resource Center for leading these workshops and empowering homeowners through education. Their nonprofit mission is centered on helping residents learn basic home repair skills, access resources, and borrow tools through their extensive Tool Library and Tool Rental Program.
There's still time to join us! Two workshops remain in the series:

Can't make it this summer? Additional home repair workshops will be offered this fall.

Aprender a cuidar y mantener su hogar comienza con tener las herramientas, el conocimiento y el apoyo adecuados.
Durante las últimas semanas, residentes de nuestra comunidad han fortalecido sus habilidades y confianza a través de nuestra Serie de Talleres de Reparación del Hogar para Principiantes. Desde el uso seguro de herramientas eléctricas hasta conceptos básicos de carpintería y reparación de paneles de yeso, los participantes han adquirido experiencia práctica que pueden aplicar en sus propios hogares.

Sharing an opportunity from MetroHealth that may be of interest to individuals with asthma who use a gas stove regularly.
Researchers are seeking participants for a study exploring indoor air quality and asthma. Eligible participants may receive a new electric hot plate and toaster oven at no cost.
You may qualify if:
✔ You have asthma
✔ You use a gas stove for cooking or baking at least three times per week
Potential benefits include helping researchers better understand indoor air quality and asthma symptoms.

As part of our Grow Healthy Homes series, our Rain Barrel Workshop reached full capacity, providing residents with hands-on education about collecting and reusing rainwater while reducing stormwater runoff.
We are grateful to the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District for sharing their expertise and helping residents build practical skills that benefit both their homes and the environment.
