We had a couple of dozen avian visitors this morning. Considering that it’s almost Thanksgiving, these 🦃 are pretty brave out strutting about! 😁 Only kidding, we LOVE seeing the wildlife.
Interesting bit of info, the wild turkey was Benjamin Franklin’s choice for the national bird. He didn’t like the bald eagle because it can be a scavenger.

I gathered seeds this evening from the Zinnia flowers. There are petals mixed in with the seeds, but that’s ok. Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers…There are many different beautiful colors; they stay in bloom for a long time; and they continue to bloom up until the first freeze.

This is one of my favorite Farm pictures of all time. This is part of this year’s pumpkin bounty. I know I seem hung up on pumpkins, but I think they’re beautiful!

Part of this evening’s dinner, Cherokee Purple tomato and sweet banana pepper from the garden. I’m sure gonna miss these fresh veggies.

I started gathering some seeds from the wildflowers this evening. I will gather more and let them dry out completely. Then, next summer I will sow them and hopefully enjoy beautiful wildflowers again next year.

I saw these on one of our oak trees this evening. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them before. They look fruit-like, but of course, oak trees don’t produce fruit (other than acorns). I had to Google to find out what they are. They are galls. Quite strange to me, actually. More info is in the comments below… if you’re as curious as I was. 😊

I find things like this interesting and beautiful.

We have several Cherokee Purple tomatoes nearing ripeness. I’ll pull them off the vine and let them continue to ripen indoors if the weather turns too cold.
