ART and Pilgrim Church: a perfect pARTnership!
Our 34th season came to a joyful close on Sunday, May 17th, a celebration and tribute to our visionary founder, Chris Haff Paluck, whose dream gave Arts Renaissance Tremont its voice.
Great music was center stage: The Cleveland Orchestra Bass Quartet, GRAMMY-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux, violinist Jason Yu, and longtime ART alumni, the Amici String Quartet. The warm acoustics of Pilgrim Congregational Church magnified the beauty and variety of every ensemble and soloist. So many of you told us how much it means to be back in this beloved space.
Thank you for making this season so meaningful.
If hearing world-class music up close and personal moved you, share it with your friends and neighbors! And please consider an end-of-season gift to help ensure that accessible, exceptional music continues to thrive in our community.

One of ART’s most singular concerts happened when Chris Haff Paluck — a bassist herself — invited members of The Cleveland Orchestra’s bass section to perform. A bass-only concert? She thought it would be fun. She was right.
Now, on this tribute concert to Chris, Principal Bass Max Dimoff, along with colleagues Mark Atherton, Tom Sperl, and Brandon Mason invite you to wallow again in the low register with some great arrangements and originals — get ready for those Pilgrim acoustics to rumble!

The Amici String Quartet was a beloved fixture of ART concerts throughout much of Chris Haff Paluck’s 30 years at the helm, most memorably in their celebrated multi-year project presenting the complete Beethoven string quartets. They return now to honor their friendship with and admiration for Chris, performing Samuel Barber’s deeply moving String Quartet with its famous Adagio as originally written for quartet.
Come hear them on may 17, 3 pm at Pilgrim as they perform this monumental work!

“It is the least performed out of the set.. I have always been fascinated by how Ysaÿe was influenced by the past, while very much composing in his own unique musical language.”
Come join us to hear Jason Yu’s stirring rendition of Ysaÿe’s rarely played Violin Sonata No. 1, at The Legacy of Art, 3 pm Sunday, May 17, Pilgrim Church!
