Listen up, instructional designers and educators! π’
When designing a course, try including one activity every week that gets students interacting or working together. This could mean arranging a quiz, dividing students into groups for a task, or hosting a discussion.
You can take this a step further by making it more interesting. Have students view a lecture recording beforehand and use the in-class time for collaborative activities that asks them to apply what they have learned. β±οΈ
Does this sound like something that can help your students this semester?
Designing effective and high-quality courses isn't the easiest part of any instructional designer or educator's job. π
It takes research, expertise, and a lot of reflection on the course modules and objectives. π€―
You need to ask yourself these five questions before you develop a course to ensure that it meets the students' needs & your curriculum goals! π’
"The instructional designers really have to get to know the faculty..."

Donβt discard the lesson plans that you do not use anymore. Centrally store them on a platform so you can always access them. π»
Your old lesson plans can serve as a good foundation for new courses and can double up as backup options in case a part of your new course doesnβt fit the student's needs.
Not just this, but you can reuse your old lesson plans in so many different ways. Keep watching this space because we might have something coming soon that will help you with just that. Stay tuned! π
Courses arenβt easy to create. There is so much that needs to be focused on that prioritizing takes away a lot of time. In the midst of all that, you can lose a backlog of tasks that might not be important right now but are needed at some point. π
Wouldnβt you love a platform that allows you to automatically add your assignments and activities created to a backlog? That will enable you to easily move them along your to-do list in the planning journey.
