BEST Community Resource Center's (BCRC) mission is to make a positive difference in everyday lives by connecting people to a network of supports and services essential for actively learning, working, and living in the community.
Today was truly about showing up for our community.
Due to Toys for Tots canceling at the last minute on Monday, adjustments had to be made quickly to ensure families were still supported. Despite the change, the event moved forward and children and families were able to receive toys and household supplies.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tammy Kennedy at GCDC, Goods Bank NEO, Meijer, Texas Roadhouse, Nothing But The Best Salon & Suites, as well as to everyone who donated, volunteered their time, helped load and unload, organized, served families, and showed up with love and support. Your willingness to step in made a real difference.
A special thank you to ' Event Venue for generously donating the space. Your support allowed this event to take place and created a welcoming environment for families.
For those who were not able to attend today and are still in need of household supplies, I will be distributing remaining supplies on Tuesday at:

Calling Our Community In 🤍🎄
As we prepare for our December 21st Christmas Celebration, we were recently notified that Toys for Tots is experiencing a nationwide shortage of donated toys this season and is unable to fulfill our request this year.
While this news was unexpected, our commitment to the families we serve has not changed.
We are now seeking community support to help fill the gap and continue creating a meaningful holiday experience for children.

As families across Cleveland feel the mounting pressure from the ongoing federal government shutdown and the recent cuts to SNAP benefits, Mayor Bibb, in partnership with the Department of Public Utilities, today announced a 30-day moratorium on utility disconnections for nonpayment.
Effective Friday, November 7, 2025, customers of Cleveland Water and Cleveland Public Power will not face service interruptions due to unpaid bills during this period. Account balances will continue to accrue, but the City is taking this step to ensure residents maintain access to essential services during a period of heightened financial insecurity.
