One Team, One Vision: E*STAR Workshop Strengthens Global Collaboration

E*STAR technical workshop held in July 2026 in the Czech Republic brought together key teams from multiple regions to align strategy and accelerate the development of E*STAR. The sessions focused on project structure, agile methodology, UX design, hardware platform decisions, specification control, and improvements in testing and feedback processes.

Participants also saw a live demonstration of the early Logger 3 software prototype, confirming the viability of the selected architecture and user‑interface direction. The workshop helped unify priorities, clarify roles, and strengthen collaboration between R&D, EIS, manufacturing, and business teams. The atmosphere was open, constructive, and strongly delivery‑focused.

Turning Waste into Opportunity in Panama

Sixteen Austin Powder Panama employees recently volunteered with FAS Panama, a recycling organization Austin Powder has partnered with since 2024.

Team members supported the organization by receiving, sorting, and organizing recyclable materials at its facilities. Austin Powder also donated cleaning supplies to help with FAS Panama’s daily operations.

“Recycling plays a key role in transforming waste into new opportunities, reducing the use of landfills, and conserving energy and resources,” said Giselle Ng, SHES Manager for Panama and Costa Rica. “As employees, we are committed to minimizing the waste we generate and ensuring that any waste produced is managed in a socially responsible manner.”

Austin Powder Chile Enters Avalanche Control Market During Historic Winter

Austin Powder Chile has successfully entered the avalanche control market, completing its first deliveries during the Southern Hemisphere winter of 2026.

Our avalanche control solutions are supporting ski resorts, highway operators, and mountain safety programs within Chile’s mining sector during one of the country’s most severe winters in more than 140 years.

A recent storm delivered more than 8 meters (26 feet) of snow in just over a week, causing operational shutdowns, extended refuge periods, and significant challenges across the Andes. Chile’s International Highway 60, which provides access to Ski Portillo, remained closed for 34 consecutive days, with operations supported by helicopter.

Austin Powder is proud to support the mountain safety teams, road operators, and mining personnel working to restore safe access and protect people, infrastructure, and critical operations in demanding mountain environments.

The International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) will take place in Whistler, British Columbia, from September 27 to October 2, bringing together snow science researchers, avalanche professionals, and practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas, research, and operational experience.

Known for its motto, "A Merging of Theory and Practice," ISSW fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between those advancing snow science and those applying it in the field. Since its inaugural conference in 1976, ISSW has been held biennially, rotating between Canada, the United States, and Europe.

A Milestone in Mining Logistics at Veladero Mine

Austin Powder Argentina recently supported the successful implementation of the first B-Train truck configuration at Veladero Mine in San Juan, Argentina, validating this transportation solution under some of the region's most demanding high-altitude mining conditions.

During testing, the unit traveled 152 kilometers (94 miles), navigated 624+ curves, and operated at elevations exceeding 4,800 meters (15,700 feet) above sea level, demonstrating exceptional performance, stability, and maneuverability throughout the route.

By increasing loading capacity to up to 75 tons, B-Train technology has the potential to improve transportation efficiency, optimize resources, and reduce operating costs while maintaining the highest safety standards.
