Austin Powder has established a new PETN drying facility in St. Lambrecht, enhancing our ability to process materials in-house and respond to changing market conditions in Europe.

By enabling the drying, phlegmatization, and further processing of PETN on site, this investment improves supply flexibility while maintaining strict safety and monitoring standards at every step.

The project also supports a more sustainable production process, eliminating the need for materials such as TNT and RDX in the Mini-Booster formulation, while preserving performance and competitiveness for our customers.

Austin Powder’s Global Sustainability Team recently came together in Lisbon to align strategy, share progress, and accelerate ex*****on across our ESG initiatives.

“A clear message emerged early on,” says Nadia Engler, Global Sustainability Manager, “sustainability is no longer a parallel agenda—it is a core driver of business value.”

Across regions, teams are advancing initiatives that support efficiency, reduce environmental impact, strengthen compliance, and improve operational resilience. In total, 37 new projects were introduced, demonstrating how sustainability is being embedded into everyday decision-making.

The results speak for themselves, expanding production while reducing environmental intensity and improving safety performance.

More than 150 spools have already been donated to schools and daycare centers, where they are being repurposed for educational activities, reading spaces, and community events—giving these materials a second life with real purpose.

Austin Powder Chile recently hosted its International Technical Workshop in Santiago, bringing together 90+ industry professionals from Chile and Argentina for two days of knowledge sharing, technical insight, and collaboration.

With contributions from global Austin Powder experts and valued customers like Barrick Veladero and Codelco Chuquicamata Underground, the workshop focused on advancing blast optimization, leveraging tools like Paradigm®, and strengthening safe, efficient operations.

Cameron McKenzie, Founder of Paradigm, highlighted how data-driven blast modeling and digital technologies are helping mining operations achieve safer, more predictable outcomes.
