***MAPS AESTHETIC PROGRAM***

Just completed the maps aesthetic program by my fav trainers Mind Pump and wanted to give my thoughts. This is the very FIRST program I’ve ever followed that wasn’t my own in 8 years of strength training. Here have been my take aways

1. The program did a great job of periodization (working through different phases of lifting) which meant my body was always being challenged and always progressing because I was only in 1 phase for 3-4 weeks max.

2. I tracked EVERYTHING. I was that person with a notebook and pen every single workout writing down exactly what I did, how many sets, reps, rest time, and weight. That way when I came back to that same exercise the following week I was able to see if I could go up in weight or reps. This allowed me to constantly challenge each exercise.

3. I’m stronger than I ever have been! I’ve was able to increase my squat, deadlift, overhead press, row, and bench press. I’m stronger in ALL of the major lifts, which has completely blown me away.

The reason I started this program to begin with was because I have a habit of overdoing it in my own training so following someone else’s gave me the accountability I needed to not overtrain, something I do for my clients everyday.
