On average, it takes emergency medical personnel 8-12 minutes to arrive after an emergency call is placed, yet many cardiac arrest victims require defibrillation within 4 minutes of an attack. Being trained in performing high-quality CPR could undoubtably save a life.

Of the cardiac arrests that occur out of the hospital about 70% occur in homes/residences and about 18.8% happen in public settings (18.8%).

If performed immediately, CPR can double or triple the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest.

Which means that you and I, those who witness a cardiac arrest are the true first responders. Our ability to perform high-quality CPR determines if our loved ones or a complete stranger lives or dies.
