COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT: Apply for the Cleveland Community Police Commission

The City of Cleveland is now accepting applications for the Cleveland Community Police Commission.

The Commission provides independent oversight and review of police misconduct and responds to community needs and concerns regarding the Cleveland Division of Police and community-police relations.

There are seven (7) open seats available. Each seat is for a 4-year term beginning in December 2026. Commissioners are compensated approximately $9,000 annually.

Application Deadline: Friday, July 17, 2026

Applicants may apply online, hand-deliver an application to Cleveland City Hall, or submit by U.S. Mail. All applicants must complete and sign the required background authorization form. Applications are considered public records and may be subject to disclosure upon request.

This is an important opportunity for Cleveland residents who care about police accountability, transparency, public safety, and community oversight.

Join us for the Freedom Summer Rally & Teach-In on Thursday, June 18 at 1:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 1211 E. 105th Street, Cleveland, OH.

This movement looks like Ohio. From Cincinnati to Youngstown, students, seniors, faith leaders, workers, elected officials, and neighbors are standing together to educate, engage, and empower our communities.

Our leaders should answer to us — not the other way around.
