2 days to keep an eye on for all Ohioans: Saturday and Tuesday. Both have risks for severe thunderstorms, with all modes in play for both days. Here’s what you need to know:
Saturday - Features some morning and early afternoon storms, with evening storms. Those of us in the southern and eastern part of the state have a slightly lower risk, as storms will work through during this timeframe. Gusty winds are the main concern here. For those of us in the northern (and especially northeastern) part of the state, afternoon clearing will lead to a buildup of energy for evening storms capable of wind to 70 mph, hail to quarter sized, and even an isolated tornado. Timing here is between 5-9 PM.
For Tuesday:
A strong cold front will work through during the afternoon and evening, entering a warm and humid atmosphere. This will be capable of creating thunderstorms with very strong winds and hail. Strong winds changing direction with height will drive a tornado threat for most of the state as well.
Be sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings for both days

I grew up in northeast Ohio, spending 21 summers of my life here. I’ve never seen smoke this bad around here. The only time I’ve seen it this bad was August 2021 in Twin Falls, ID
