good morning all you newcomers here's a little something I wrote a few years back that I'm sure a lot of you can probably understand. it's called you can
I am an addict
I am not me
I am not that monster
that dwells within me

I am a husband
I have a wife and a child
and I'm losing it all
because of this Dark Cloud

it hounds me it haunts me
it eats at my soul
it tries to convince me
that I've dug my own hole

as I look in the mirror
at the person I see
who's that tired old person
looking back at me

I want it so badly
I want to be free
but how to get rid of
the chains holding me

look deep down inside you
and look all about
look past your fears
and get rid of your doubts

and then only when
you've done this great feat
can you lay that monster
dead at your feet
