Late To Grid Podcast
Late To Grid is a Podcast about everyday motorsports and what it takes to get on track.
From HPDE events to endurance racing we cover it all and chat with drivers, team members, and others involved in motorsports.
From a humble Miata...
To Ferrari.
To NASCAR.
To Formula 1.
That's quite the suspension application list. ๐
And apparently the F1 shock is about the size of your hand when compressed.
Mitch Bloom's first experience with รhlins coilovers was in an NB Miata.
And apparently, he hasn't forgotten the feeling. ๐
Some track cars just stick with you.
Before you spend thousands upgrading your track car...
Talk to someone who already did it. ๐๐
What worked?
What didn't?
What do they regret buying?
The paddock is full of free advice. You just have to ask.
Want to know what racers actually want?
Go to the racetrack and ask them. ๐
Mitch Bloom explains how conversations with grassroots racers can influence future suspension products.
The next great product idea might already be sitting in the paddock.
After a brake failure, Mitch Bloom changed the way he prepared his race cars.
Torque it.
Check it.
Check it again.
Then safety wire it. ๐ง๐
Confidence comes from preparation.

Last week, Bill had the privilege of representing ๐๐๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ ๐๐๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ and the ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ผ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ podcast at the SEMA & PRI Ohio Motorsports Network Meeting, hosted by Jax Wax in Columbus.
With more than 40 track owners, promoters, industry partners, and key decision-makers in the room, one thing was clear: Ohio motorsports has serious momentum, and collaboration is how we keep it moving forward.
Ohioโs racing industry represents an estimated $4.9 ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ค๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ฉ, making the health and growth of our tracks and racing facilities important far beyond the paddock.
The conversation covered long-term growth, challenges facing tracks, resource sharing, economic development, and legislative priorities, including an important update on the ๐๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐ก, which has passed the Ohio House and is now awaiting a committee vote in the Ohio Senate.
Building a coordinated statewide voice for motorsports is critical to protecting access to racing, supporting our facilities, and creating a stronger future for the sport.
Huge thanks to ๐
๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ญ for hosting and bringing the Ohio motorsports community together.

Get Atomic Prepped.
120+ mph.
No brakes.
And a lesson that changed how Mitch Bloom approached racing. ๐
After a mechanical failure sent him off track, rebuilding confidence started with understanding exactly what went wrong.
Sometimes the biggest racing lessons come from the moments you never want to repeat.
His first E36 was so unsafeโฆ
The mechanic put his fist through the floor. ๐
He's now on number 12.
Your wheel is holding your car to the road.
No pressure. ๐
