Today, I had the privilege of sitting down with my dear friend Connie Hill-Johnson, and let me tell you, every conversation with her is a blessing! 🙌 Her wisdom and fire are always such an inspiration, and she reminded me of something profound – this is my season. It’s time to truly catapult my impact. 🌱✨

While I know my what and why, Connie's words have helped me revitalize and reconnect with my why at a deeper level. Now, it’s time for the world to know it too! 🌍💥 So grateful for these moments of clarity and empowerment. Onward and upward!

I have learned a lot of times in business and in Cleveland, you have to be quiet about some of your moves and the things God is doing on your behalf.

Beyond my nonprofit; I have a consulting firm that does nonprofit planning, development, grant writing, brand development and consulting.

Well last month I landed a contract with one of my favorite colleges. None other than Cuyahoga Community College.

Super excited to share my client who owns an in-home daycare just advised me that she won a State of Ohio Grant I wrote!!!!!

She was awarded $50k for 3 years to help with her capacity, staffing, and access for her childcare center. It makes me smile that I can help people business go further!

A Call to Action: Empowering Our Youth for a Brighter Future

The reality is that our children are facing immense challenges. From government policies to street violence, one wrong move can cost them everything. They are up against gang violence, systemic racism, and political misfires, leaving them vulnerable and with few safe options.

As a parent, I often find myself wondering how to protect my children. The path to safety and success seems fraught with obstacles. Who do we trust to cover, encourage, educate, and guide them? How do we deal with the fallout of one bad decision? Our children face adversities on every side as they try to survive and find a life of meaning and purpose.

My heart aches as I watch our children grapple with these choices. They are forced to choose between the illusion of safety within a gang, carrying a bullet, or leaving their lives to chance and circumstances. Yet, with a desire to touch the lives of even a few from this struggling generation, I have decided to devote the rest of my life to saving as many as I can, including my own children. I want them to know that their safety is our responsibility, that education is their right, and that love and support exist for them. We will stand behind them, whether in the courtroom or at their graduation, because we need them just as much as they need us.

I was one of the lucky ones who made it, but each day I still face adversity. Born to a teenage mother in the inner city, I have encountered systemic barriers that tried to limit my potential. Despite this, I have fought against the odds.

My son almost didn’t make it. While trying to provide him with a better education, he encountered racism from students, teachers, and staff, which drove him to attempt su***de. My husband works six days a week in an industry that generates millions, yet he struggles to earn a six-figure salary. If we face these challenges while doing our best, where do children from families earning only $20k a year stand? Families plagued by the drug epidemic and barely getting by? Kids working hard to get to college only to find out they can’t afford it?

There are countless nonprofits claiming to advocate, empower, and outreach, yet many are not doing the work. Then there is little ol' me, who has been fighting for 13 years, serving 2,500 youth annually with our own funds, only to be overlooked because "my brand isn’t enough."

I am calling on our community to stand with Motivated and Empowered Inc. as we take bold steps to provide our youth with clean, safe, and stable homes; education filled with opportunity, support, and hope; and initiatives to reduce gun violence. We aim to build stellar schools, transitional housing, and offer free scholarships.

Effective immediately, we are launching a capital campaign to raise $5 million to build a state-of-the-art youth campus, including a youth center, transitional housing, schools, resource buildings, and much more. We need your support.

I know you'll think I work with 1-2 clients but I service almost 22 clients a month so please have patience with me especially since I have been out for surgery. I have unforeseen health things that need my attention and I should not have to make this statement but I have a stomach infection and stage 2 stomach cancer that I am now in treatment for....so please extend grace and know that I am working diligently on your projects.

Surgery went well yesterday she's in a lot of pain today so continue to pray for her strength and comfort healing and peace. Thanks
