For the past 2 months, 3 of our members have been training to compete in the Bataan Memorial Death March in White Sands, New Mexico. Despite the event being moved virtually, our members decided to travel out west and complete the 26.2 mile ruck march to honor and remember those that suffered and endured the Bataan Death March that happened 80 years ago. We are so proud of all their hard work and dedication!!

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of recently promoted Brigadier General Beverly N. “Ben” Skardon. General Skardon was born on July 14, 1917 and grew up in Walterboro, South Carolina. He served in the Army following his graduation from Clemson in 1938 until he retired in 1963. He survived the Bataan Death March and continued to have a very successful military career. General Skardon is a hero to everyone and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Company C-4 sends our condolences to General Skardon’s family and the entire Clemson community. He will be missed by everyone.

We were honored to be a part of the South Carolina Veterans Upstate Salute this past weekend. This event was held to show support of our nation’s veterans through a fun evening full of displays from local military organizations, vintage warbird flyovers, a concert featuring Jefferson Starship, and a firework display to close out the night. Thank you for including us in this special event!!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking part in a 9/11 remembrance ceremony to honor those who lost their lives. We want to thank Lieutenant General Duane A. Gamble, U.S. Army Deputy Chief of Staff, and MAJ Hickman for coming to Clemson to be apart of this ceremony. We are honored to have had the opportunity to help honor and remember the fallen. Thank you for capturing these photographs.
