A client of mine is trying to rehome their three year old standard labradoodle Cooper. He's a very good pup! He needs someone who will spend time with him, take him on adventures ! He is intact and giant sized. If you do not have the time and money to brush and have him groomed regularly , this is not the pup for you.

Puppies are never too young to start getting ready for professional grooming! Many people have ask “can I bath my puppy before I take him or her to the groomers?” ABSOLUTELY! DO IT! Brush them, use the hairdryer on them, touch their paws, teeth and ears regularly, do as much as you can to help set your puppy up for a positive, stress-free and happy first visit to the groomers. The teaspoon trick is something I have always suggested to clients if their puppy isn’t a fan of having a comb or scissors around their eyes. With consistency and praise it works. Similarly, an electric toothbrush has always been my go-to suggestion if clippers and trimmers make a puppy anxious. Make sure to not forget the pads and armpits. These are two areas that groomers need to trim as part of a full groom. 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲: 🐶 In the bath use a jug rather than the shower head to slowly soak your puppy’s head and face. 🐶 Use a tearless shampoo specifically formulated for puppies. Puppies have even more sensitive skin so a puppy shampoo is essential as it uses less potent ingredients which are gentler on their skin. 🐶 Use a soft child’s toothbrush and puppy toothpaste to start them on a good path with their oral health. Teeth cleans are something the majority of dogs dislike so starting them young will make your life a lot easier when it comes to looking after their pearly whites. 🐶 Use a soft nail file on their nails little and often to help get them comfortable with having their nails touched. 🐶 And of course, lots of treats, lots of praise and encouragement… ♥️ Remember, desensitising your puppy to being handled and groomed is equally important as training your puppy to sit or stay. It will also massively help when it comes to taking them to the vets, who also need to be able to handle them safely in order to do their job.
