Clemson Engineers for Developing Communities
CEDC is a student led service learning initiative from Clemson University. The class is student led but advised by faculty members and industry partners.
With CEDC we provide opportunities for students to put into practice skills learned in their majors for the betterment of the Haitian people. This is accomplished by integrating students from ~19 different majors in order to provide services in economic development, education, and infrastructure. Last Friday our Functional Management Director (Ata Ozer, right) and Current Operations Director (Eric Nguyen, left) tabled for our organization at the Cecas Event!
Here, they provided information about CEDC to other students wanting to get involved in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences.

Another exciting class today, starting with the paper plate awards and ending with the summit dry run/story time! Several awards were handed out to exemplary members and groups in CEDC and then the whole class gathered around for a little story time preparing us for this fall’s summit!!

Insightful presentation on AmeriCorps from CEDC alumni Jonah DeHart-Thompson today! He spoke to the class about the volunteer work that he and others have done with AmeriCorps, greatly aiding in statewide and national infrastructure!

Fun class outside at the amphitheater today! Today’s class was focused on cultural diversity and ethics exercises with it being finished with class photos, headshots, and group photos!!

Great class today with the Fall 2024 Watershed games! The exercise was designed to simulate real world engineering projects and project management with “money” allotted and a design margin established. The simulation encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and open communication between groups!
