Office Based General Anesthesia

In addition to basic IV Sedation, one of our mobile anesthesia based Dentistry/Oral Surgery services features General Anesthesia under nasal intubation.

For larger, more comprehensive dentistry or full arch surgeries, the Patient and Surgeon experience is enhanced. Providing a secured airway not only increases the safety profile for the patient, but also optimizes the Dental team’s operating conditions.

📖 HOW
From years of airway management experience in both Ambulatory Surgery and Hospital Based settings, we adopted multimodal anesthesia techniques via nasal intubation into our Mobile Anesthesia Service. Through a combination of anesthesia drugs and specialized equipment, we are able to bring hospital level care to the office.

📄PATIENT SELECTION
Every patient undergoing Dental Procedures/Oral Surgery is screened and evaluated under the same ASA guidelines utilized in Hospitals and ASCs. Our preop nurse communicates with your office every step of the way to conduct a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical history including preop airway assessment. Patient selection and optimization is the key to patient safety in all settings of anesthesia management.

Dr. Josh Ford, a board certified Ophthalmologist who completed a fellowship specializing in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Orbital Oncology. Dr. Ford completed his undergrad training at Yale University, Medical Degree from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Ophthalmology residency at Tulane, and Fellowship training at MD Anderson. He’s an award winning author of over 30 peer reviewed journal publications.

Dr. Ford operates at Retina Consultants of New Orleans. He performs several types of surgeries including ptosis repair and blepharoplasty surgeries.
