Happy Friday, my thirsty friends! š»
As Iāve been teasing over the last few weeks, today is finally the day to let the cat out of the bag! Iāve been rebranding our beer labels in preparation for an upcoming competition, and judging takes place next Saturday.
I had so many great label designs to choose from, but in the end I selected the three I believe give us the best shot at bringing home the win in the beer label competition.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them. Wish us luck, and as alwaysā¦

āļø Good morning and welcome to a brand-new week!
You may have heard me talking about this one, caught a few teaser posts, or seen it making appearances behind the scenes, but today itās finally time for a first look at Moon Over Key Lime Bay, my take on a key lime moon pie in all its carbonated glory!
The carbonation is coming along beautifully, the taste tests have been very promising, and everything is right where I hoped it would be. Now comes the fun partāletting some of my thirsty friends give it a try before sending this one off to competition.
Hereās hoping this Key Lime-inspired brew makes a splash with both friends and judges alike!
Stay thirsty, my friends⦠and donāt let those pints run dry! š»šš

Another brew day is in the books and this one is now resting comfortably in the fermentation chamber!
Today was Version 2 of my Historical Dark Lager, a beer that earned two medals in competition with Version 1, but also came with some valuable judge feedback. After reviewing the scoresheets and comments, I made a few recipe adjustments aimed at improving balance, character, and overall presentation in hopes of pushing those scores even higher.
Now the hard part beginsāwaiting. Weāll see what Version 2 has to say in a few weeks. Stay tuned, and as always, donāt let your pint run dry! š»

Well, that was one heck of a brew day! š»
Spent the day brewing with my buddy over at Backyard Buddha Brewery, and letās just say the brewing gods wanted to keep us on our toes. There were a few ups, a few downs, and a couple of āwell, thatās not supposed to do thatā moments along the way.
But in true brewer fashion, we rolled with it, made the adjustments, and came out the other side with a batch weāre pretty excited about.
The wort is now tucked away in the fermentation chamber, doing its thing and getting ready for its big debut at the Tallahassee Brew Fest on August 8th. šŗ
If all goes according to plan, this one is going to be something special.
Stay thirsty, my friends⦠and donāt let those pints run dry! š»

Well friends, itās shaping up to be a busy (and thirsty) weekend at Backyard Aleworks!
šŗ Saturday: Iāll be helping out a fellow brew club member knock out a batch for the upcoming Tallahassee Brew Fest. Hard to believe August 8th is right around the corner already!
šŗ Sunday: Itās time to fire up the kettle for Frau Nachtbier Version 2. This beer has already brought home two medals, and apparently made quite a few friends happy enough to empty the keg for me so I had an excuse to brew it again!
š Moon Over Key Lime Bay Update: Weāve been sampling this one, and itās coming along beautifully. The key lime character is shining through, and with just a little more carbonation time, this cream ale is shaping up to be something special.
As always, stay thirsty, have fun, and rememberā¦

š¤šš„§ Moon Over Key Lime Bay has landed!
The latest Backyard Aleworks experiment is officially in the keg and getting its bubbles. Imagine key lime pie, a moonlit Florida beach, and an ice-cold pint all crashing into each other.
This one is bright, creamy, citrusy, and just a little bit crazyāthe way we like it.
Weāll let it finish carbing while we practice our āquality control.ā
Stay thirsty, my friends, and donāt let your pint run dry!
šŗ Itās another brew weekend at Backyard Aleworks!
The competition is getting fierce, so itās time to raise the bar once again. This weekend weāre brewing something brand new to the lineup: Kiwi Coast Crush, our New Zealand Pilsner.
Packed with bright Southern Hemisphere character and brewed with competition season in mind, weāre hoping this one continues the momentum and brings a little more hardware home to the brewery and the PUBGuild.
Stay thirsty, friends⦠and donāt let those pints run dry. š»
