Dire Wolf Rabbitry - Satin Angoras
Dire Wolf Rabbitry specializes in Satin Angora rabbits. We are members of the ARBA and NARBC. We only got serious about showing late 2019/early 2020.
We have been breeding rabbits since 2017, and raising satin angoras since 2018. Located in Clayton, NC.

I have 3 satin angoras looking to hop along!
-Constellation Bunnies Loki, Senior pointed white buck. Picture is from a few months ago. EXCELLENT coat on him, I adore the texture and density. Is most likely genetically tort, and carries chocolate and lilac.
-DWR Link, Senior broken Lynx (high rufous) buck. Pictured while his coat was growing out + while he was being shown. He has 5 show legs and can be granded after being registered. He has outproduced himself in several of his kits here.
-Zooterkins Winky Face, Senior Opal doe. Wink is looking to retire in a pet/wooler home only! She is nearly 3.5 years old and had her final litter several months ago. She is incredibly sweet, with a very easy maintenance coat. I rarely offer pets but she is the favorite of multiple family members and has definitely earned the right to be someone’s spoiled pet!
All 3 will be clipped down in the next few days. Please message for more info!

DWR Root Beer - Chocolate agouti junior doe.
Cotton Patch Farms CocoaCola x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise.
This doe has absolutely powerful shoulders, they are honestly some of the best I’ve felt on any satin angora. NFS, she’s definitely sticking around!
I’ll be posting a few other keepers from recent litters within the next few days that I haven’t gotten around to taking pictures of.

Had lots of fun at the Greensboro, NC show this past weekend!
As always, I loved seeing my rabbit friends - I enjoy our discussions so much.
My satin angoras did well!
In show A, DWR Malon (broken red Jr doe) got BOV, earning her first leg. DWR Don Julio Tequila got BOSV, I don’t think there were enough colored bucks to earn a leg but I could be wrong.
In show B, DWR Navi (broken chocolate agouti doe) got BOV, also earning her first leg.
In show C, DWR Don Julio Tequila got BOSB.
In show D, DWR Malon got BOB (earning her 2nd leg) and Tequila got BOSB.
This was my first show that I have had enough competition to earn legs when it comes to my Satins!
DWR Black Wood (Black JR doe) managed to take 3 BOB wins.
My herd buck Pierre (Broken SR Buck) got 1 BOB and 2 BOSB wins.
They’ve received excellent comments in the past but I am so excited that they managed to do so well with competition.

Forgot to make a post about last weekend’s show in Dalton, GA!
The bunnies did well 🙂
I showed 2 satins, and they did fantastic (really good comments) but unfortunately we didn’t have enough competition for legs. That’s okay, I’m still happy about it!
The Satin Angoras did great as well.
DWR Link earned 1 BOSB leg - this is his 5th leg.
A 10 week old chococolate agouti buck (currently unnamed, but likely a keeper) also earned 1 BOSB leg. He is out of DWR Topaz and Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise. I think he’s going to turn out very nice!
DWR Malon won a few of the junior doe classes, but there was not enough for legs and the Senior does that were shown beat the juniors. Regardless, I’m very excited to watch her mature.

3 does I am holding onto out of Cotton Patch Farms Malibu (REW, Registered, 7 show legs) x DWR Link (Broken Lynx, 4 show legs).
None are perfect, all have qualities I like. I may not end up keeping them all, but I will for now.
-DWR Navi (Booted Broken Chocolate Agouti). She’s the best in the litter but her shoulders are a bit too long.
-DWR Malon (Booted Red). She has better shoulder than Navi, but worse hindquarters. Nice coat but Navi’s is better.
-DWR Saria (Booted Chocolate Tort). I just like the fact that she isn’t agouti, so she can be used in my self project 🤣
She’s still pretty nice, but the other 2 are better. We’ll see if I keep her in the long run.
Either way, I’m pretty happy with what this litter produced!

DWR Gamble (Blue) x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise (Chocolate Agouti) litter born 1-15-2023!
4 fawns, 2 chestnut, 2 chocolate agouti.
2 unexpected genes from gamble - chocolate and non-extension. I was hoping for chocolate, but only her sire carried it - I was not hoping for non-extension, only her dam carried it. It’s fine, just not the most ideal for my plans.
F1 Satin x Satin Angora litter, my second hybrid litter. 4 opals, 1 broken opal, 1 broken chestnut/copper, 1 broken black. Born 2-2-2023.
The goal is to cross the kits back to satin angoras to improve type in them. Only quality animals would be used, if nothing nice comes from the litter then I will scratch that hybrid line. No rabbits from the line will ever be sold without transparency on their hybrid background, even 20 generations later.
DWR Wings (Black Pearl) x DWR Regal (REW, genetically tort - could be any color tort) litter, born 2-3-2023. All pearls, exact colors are still unknown. There are 6.

Zooterkins Winky Face (Opal) x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise (Chocolate Agouti) litter. Looking cute, still too young for legitimate evaluation though (7-8 weeks old). This is most likely Wink’s last litter as she is now a little over 3 years old! She will be looking for a fiber pet home, she deserves a comfy retirement ❤️
2 chocolate agouti does, 3 chestnut does, 1 chestnut buck. At least I got 1 doe heavy litter 🥲

Zooterkins Winky Face (Opal) x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise (Chocolate Agouti) litter.
2 chocolate agouti does, 3 chestnut does, 1 chestnut buck. Don Julio passed on his super low rufus in most of his babies, which has been interesting to see.

DWR Topaz (Copper) x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise (Chocolate Agouti) litter and Cotton Patch Farms CocoCola (Chocolate) x Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise (Chocolate Agouti) litter.
Topaz has 3 fawn bucks (1 fostered to Cola), 3 chocolate agouti bucks, and 1 chestnut buck. 🥲
Cola has 1 fawn buck fostered from Topaz, 1 chocolate agouti doe, and 1 chocolate agouti buck.
Early gender guesses… I hope I am wrong about Topaz’s 🥲🥲🥲

DWR Regal, REW Senior buck.
This guy is lucky… 10 months old, but never bred a doe. He never had any interest, despite having the equipment.
Well, I put a doe with him a few days ago to give him one last chance… success!!
Idk what changed for him since I tried several does of varying experience and temperament and he would just cuddle them. I tried every trick in the book to get a buck to breed. I guess he heard his time was running out 🤷♀️
I’m very happy. He’s got an amazing coat, extremely dense with perfect texture. Only about 2 months of regrowth!!
He’s got tons of depth and decent hindquarters. I don’t like his shoulders that much but his future girlfriends are all strong in the shoulders. He’s a tort underneath, he could be any color tort but the chances of blue tort are the highest.
Bred to DWR Wings, Pearl doe.
Regal is out of DWR Reign (Blue Pearl) and Greenleaves Wider (Pearl). My last litter from both rabbits.

Greenleaves Vegas, broken red junior doe.
I wasn’t really looking to make an addition to my herd, but she looked really nice so I decided I’d take a look at her at a recent show. Her coat density won me over instantly 😅 I love her already.
She’s a very cute doe, with a lot of personality.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures at the NYE show (why do I always forget??). But the bunnies did good - DWR Link (Broken Lynx Senior Buck) won every colored Senior buck class, and I think he picked up 1 BOSV. He earned 4 show legs, he would have gotten 5 if I hadn’t scratched a class filler buck because I didn’t think we had the numbers anyway... I was mistaken. This was a very competitive show, and I had mostly class fillers and 11 week old juniors, but I am still happy with the comments. 3 rabbits also got registered last weekend (Constellation Bunnies Freya, DWR Moon Stone, and Sarah’s Don Julio Sunrise).
I’m very excited for upcoming shows, and I was so happy to see a lot of my angora friends! Other than 1 very local show, our last show before NYE was at the beginning of summer.
