Hummingbirds are zooming around our feeder. One sits in a nearby tree and protects the feeder from several other "would be diners." Lots of flapping of wings but no injuries.

Fresh spring greens and herbs from our Gardens! Yes, we filled old whiskey barrels with garden soil, lots of spring greens, fresh herbs, edible flowers and many are ready to pick . We both love salads with home-made dressings and some colorful edible flowers. Salad can often be our meal (with a glass of tart wine). Bon Appetit!

The rain has let up and the birds are back at our feeders - they roost nearby when it is raining. Once the rain lets up they are hungry - and they swarm our feeders. Our daffodils are almost in full bloom. It is about time to plan a trip to Gibbs Gardens https://www.gibbsgardens.com/ . Chickadee and Tufted Titmouse below.

"Lake Lawn"" at the Darugh house in Rabun County. Yes, David waded out there in the rain to view our ponding - and he did this while it was pouring. Little Creek, next to our house, is not Little Creek today, it is rushing and making stream sized noise - and hopefully flushing out many fallen leaves. Reminder to David "take off your shoes before entering our house!"

A Red Breasted Hawk landed on a pole at our firepit. When we saw the hawk we pondered what she was doing. Down below was a squirel eating fallen bird seed from our feeders. Looked ocminous for the squirel as the hawk stared at dinner. Then, to our surprise the hawk flew off. Lucky squirel!

Pretty much finished our "Porch Living" addition out back https://www.porchliving247365.com/ . Some additional things needed outside yet. Ceiling fan and lighting is new as are the rugs, most everything else is from our stash after selling two houses and Beechwood Inn Bed and Breakfast. Yes, we have "too many keepsakes." Despite the cold weather we are enjoying the addition - bought a porch heater that helps.

Finally got our Christmas cards in the mail so feeling we can take a break. It's a chilly cloudy day with rain expected - good day to stay home and cook. Prepping Chicken Enchiladas and Pork Chile Rellenos! Also need sour cream, mild and spicy salsas, cooked and raw onions lots of sharp cheese and Dos Equis. Both of us enjoy cooking (and eating).

Grow - Cook - Eat will soon be our version of cooking classes, private chef dinners and wine tastings. We are not launching yet as we have a number of legal requirements to flesh out, but we hope you are interested. We plan to offer some private dinners and classes at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia (Clayton), that will include a donation to the Food Bank. This is all about fun and excitement as we both love food and wine! Let us know if you are interested and please like this new page to keep informed.
