Willhite Racing

Headed to the last competitive race of the year for Willhite racing. Making that painful stop before heading to Ohio.

The points season at our home track wrapped up yesterday. Congratulations to all of the 2026 Champions! Among the Champions, Vivianne brought home the Lt. 160 title! Unfortunately her main competitor in that division had to miss a few races at the end of the season but we are still very proud of the title as she did have it clinched while she still had competition.

Alyssa finished the season 4th in the highly competitive Sr. Honda division at MMRA. She came into the final race sitting 1 point ahead of 4th. She raced out to a 2nd place finish in the heat. In the 12 car feature, she came home 5th... running as high as 3rd but lost 2 positions on a late race restart with 2 laps to go. One of those was to Gabe W who snuck by her on the track and in the final points standings. Alyssa made huge strides this year though and is consistently in the front group of cars now.

After a lot of back and forth, we've decided to sit out this weekend's Midwest Thunder regional in Columbus, OH. We'll be cheering from afar for all our fellow competitors and friends chasing checkers. Race hard, have fun, and bring home some hardware!

Saturday
Vivianne kicked things off with a 3rd place run in Light 160 and a 9th in Sr. Honda. Alyssa brought home a pair of 5th place finishes in Sr. Honda and Sr. Animal.

Sunday
Vivianne backed it up with a 2nd in Light 160 and another 9th in Sr. Honda. Alyssa grabbed a 2nd in Sr. Honda and a 5th in Sr. Animal.

The big news: Vivianne has clinched the Light 160 championship with a race still left on the schedule. So proud of how hard she has worked all season to get here.

Alyssa heads into championship day in two weeks sitting 3rd in Sr. Honda points, just 1 point out, in a class stacked with 14 drivers. It is going to come down to the wire.

Now for the Sunday story. Alyssa got tangled up in a first lap wreck (alright, fine, she caused it) that knocked her engine out of position. That left the chain loose and skipping the rest of the race. Since it happened before they completed lap one, dad made the call to leave her out and hoping it would not be skipping too bad and the chain would hold rather than bring her in and send her to the back from a 3rd place starting spot. Gamble paid off. She drove her tail off and brought it home 2nd. Found a bent right rear shock after the race too, so she did all that with a hurt car.

Still learning the ARC car in Sr. Animal. We made gains this weekend, but there is a lot of work left to do.

Two weeks to championship day. Let's go!

3 Light 160 wins in a row at MMRA for Vivianne. We need to be able take the confidence that she has at her home track with us when we hit the road for bigger races, but one day it will click.

She had to really earn this one. She was passed early by a couple of cars and worked her way back to the lead before getting spun. She then worked her way back to the front passing for the lead with about 5 to go before checking out in her BRE powered Xwing.

Thanks again to those that help us get to the track and provide us with the best equipment out there.

What a day at our local MMRA race! These girls came ready to RACE!

🥈 ALYSSA — DOUBLE PODIUM! 🥈
Alyssa brought home 2nd place in Sr. Animal and followed it up with another 2nd in the stacked Sr. Honda class!

And that Sr. Honda race was a SHOW! 🔥 Alyssa spent a big part of the feature OUT FRONT, leading lap after lap and battling hard in one of the most competitive classes of the day. She came up just short of the win, but what a drive! 👏

🏆 VIVIANNE — VICTORY LANE! 🏆
Sr. Honda was a tough one for Vivianne, with a challenging race ending in an 11th-place finish.

But racers bounce back — and she did it in a BIG way! 💥

Vivianne came back swinging in 160 Combined / Light 160 and DROVE IT TO THE WIN! 🏁🥇🔥

Two runner-up finishes. One WIN. Three podium results.

Not a bad way to spend a race day! 😎🏁

Proud of the fight, determination, and speed both girls showed today. Now we keep digging and go after the next one!

Our nationals run is done. Both girls transferred up in their mains. Alyssa from F to E to D where she finished 6th. Vivianne made it up to the D in Light 160 but we broke. Tough mechanical day, but way better than we did at the national we ran last year.

Vivianne has her work cut out for her. Her heat race is full of national top 10 drivers.

Alyssa’s car broke before start. Ran it with the engine hub slipping. Now she is going to have to work her way up through the soup.

Alyssa is heat race 5, coming up next. 4 going on track now. Vivianne is race 32.
