Hi friends!
We went for a walk with grandma this morning because she had to come to town to run some errands. She pointed out this family of reindeer and said they were so cute. You are never going to believe what happened next 😣.
Mommy made me sit next to them and told me to be a reindeer 🦌. Friends, do I look like a reindeer? I think not.
If they thought I had a lot to say before this “be a reindeer” nonsense, they were sorely mistaken. We didn’t even stop to say hello to the koi fish, the cows were not in their pasture, and Stanley was not outside today. At least I got to see Charlie, the therapy greyhound.
Be a 🦌 reindeer?!?
Love and snuggles,
Penny 🐾🐾

It was sunny ☀️ but pretty cold 🥶 out one-day last week, so I thought I would put Penny in a jacket for our long walk. She wasn't too sure about her new look until I told her she was wearing her blanket. The coat is lined with fleece, so it is like wearing a blanket. After that, she stopped discussing the situation and embraced her jacket. We even stopped by the koi pond so she could show off her coat to her fish friends.
When we got home, she didn’t want me to take it off her, but I told her she could jump in bed and get under the covers. That made it all better.

A special announcement at the end of the post!
For the past three days, Penny has been insisting we cross to the other side of our east-west street. During the stay at home, it felt like cheating to walk across the main road in town to get to the other side of our street. We did a few times so that Penny could see her friends there (from a distance) but not very often.
Since Saturday she has insisted that we visit her friends every single day. I am not opposed, but she has made our 3.5 miles walk a 4-mile walk and it has been HOT lately. Before the stay at home, we would park on the other side of town and walk around there so a much shorter walk. Anyway, Penny has been insistent, so we have seen big brown dog (no pictures because we are trying to keep our distance), but we did visit the fish a few times. We also saw grey cat (formerly known as Thanksgiving glitter cat) who came right over to play and didn’t want Penny to leave.
On our way home the other day, Penny saw her first turtle! Maybe not her first but our first together, and she was very curious. The turtle was not interested in making a new friend and eventually closed it's house up tight against the nosy doggy invader. It was kind of cute Penny was very obviously trying to get it to come out and "play" with her.
Remember how a few weeks ago I mentioned we had something exciting coming? Well, it's here, and we would love to have you join us a Beta tester!

Penny wanted to invite you on our walk today so you can enjoy some of the beautiful flowers we found.
We know not everyone is in a location where they get to enjoy the spring flowers right now so we are sharing ours with you. Think of this post like the penny jar.
Feel free to share a picture with a friend, save a picture to help brighten your day, or leave a picture from your own social distancing stay at home walk.
Stay safe and healthy 💕

Know someone that could use a little help with pet food or cat litter? Your local shelter or rescue can help ensure beloved pets stay with their people during these difficult times.
Give your local shelter or rescue a call and see what arrangements can be made for food or litter deliveries. Even if they don’t have extra supplies they often know of local organization or community members that will help out.
Are you or someone you know sheltering in place due to being high risk?
Please reach out to us if you have pets that you need supplies for, but cannot go out to shop.
We are here to help!

I know that many of you are veterinary professionals. Whether veterinarians, vet techs, vet nurses, kennels techs, or front desk staff you work hard day in and day out to provide love, care, and reassurance to the animals and their people that walk in the door. Many more of you have a favorite veterinary office with staff that is practically part of the family.

On our many walks we have passed by some beautiful decorations and of course stopped to take a few pictures. Penny practices her sit stays and down stays while people pass by. Hard work but she is doing so well.

Since we are cat sitting for Penny’s grandma and grandpa for the next few days we had to find new places to walk. 2 separate loops around lakes. Only 2.4 miles total but over ten flights in elevation (still waiting for it to update it’s been over an hour and I know there was more uphill in that time).
A few of these pictures are places that Davinia and Indiana used to walk. Penny thought it was a nice place to walk and is now fast asleep 💤 on the couch next to me.
Do you have a favorite place to go for a nice long walk?

We found a new walking trail and had so much fun checking it out. It starts behind town and then crosses the old highway to an open green area.
It’s a little scary crossing the street and have to wait for a break in traffic. From now on we are going to start on the other side. The trail is flat and pretty well maintained which is nice because nothing around here is flat.
We did see a deer 🦌 running full out in the middle of the open space. That was a bit scary but thankfully it turned and went towards the woods so we got to see the show.

When we started our walk today the fire truck was on the way out with lights going 🚨.
On our way back it was sitting outside with no other activity going on so we took the opportunity to take a picture with the big red fire engine. Hopefully it was a false alarm and everyone was ok.
Penny would have liked to have posed with the firemen but we didn’t want to disturb them. Maybe we will bake some goodies for the holidays and ask for a picture when we drop them off.

{sponsored} Penny wants to share some of her favorite treats with you. They are all from and single ingredient goodness. She loves their Capelin which are a great source of Omega-3 and are high in Taurine too. She think the Lamb Horn is pretty cool and needs to know where hers is at all times. Sometime she insists it comes into our bed at night 🙈. Our training treat of choice is their Cod Mini Chips. They are air-dried high in Omega-3 and about 2 calories each. We use them for high value rewards and she loves them.
If you are interested in giving these treats a try and we certainly think you should you can use the code Social10 for 10% off your entire order on their website through Monday night.
Ok not really sponsored in the usual sense but I do work for running their social media accounts and have the treats in the house for photo shoots and creating promotional graphics. Penny just happens to benefit from them being in the house.
