Make sure you don’t head to the store until soon after you’ve eaten a good meal, so you aren’t tempted to buy more than you need. Avoid snacking from the demo tables while grocery shopping as well. Trying the samples of chips or cookies will probably guilt you into buying some.

Use mustard on your sandwiches instead of mayonnaise. Mustard is prepared from the seeds of the mustard plant blended with spice and vinegar, has very few calories and no fat, while one tablespoon of regular mayo has around 90 calories coming from 10 grams of fat. Commercial mayonnaise is loaded with acid and preservatives, and is typically 70-80% fat; and “low fat" mayonnaise products contain starches, cellulose gel, or other ingredients to simulate the texture of real mayonnaise.
Plyometrics -- also known as jump training -- is a training technique based on scientific evidence and is designed to increase muscular power and explosiveness. The exercises are based around having muscles exert maximum force in as little time as possible, in order to maximize speed and power. The objective is to learn to move from a muscle extension to a muscle contraction rapidly. Mainly used by athletes to improve performance, they are used to a much lesser degree in the fitness field. There is an increased risk of injury if these are done without having adequate strength to begin with.
