Check out this dry rot - the result of years and years of water pe*******on due to improper flashing! Photos 1 & 2 show both the rot and improper flashing...

1: Step 1 (photo 3) - always start at the bottom! This piece will end up behind the gutter once gutters are installed but ensures if the gutter fails the water will exit BELOW the soffit - able to run off the face of the fascia and onto the ground.
2: Step 2 (photo 4 & 5) - this final piece starts below the valley metal and ends past the fascia. This way water is kept away from the structure and evacuated directly into the gutter, without the opportunity to sit in silly places.

Check out these floors - this Shaw plank is not only flexible, it's waterproof! A must if you have kids, or the floor is applied in a wet/ humid space like a bathroom or basement.

Farmhouse sink and Formica top going in! Typically we'd use a stone or concrete top, but in this case, we opted for a super affordable Formica 180fx save a few thousand $$. Down the road, these Formica tops can easily be popped off and replaced with granite or soapstone.
