Last night the CHS Concert Band earned a SUPERIOR rating at OMEA District Contest! This achievement, the first since 2017, is a testament to the band's tireless effort and perseverance. Congratulations to these exceptional students on their well-deserved recognition.

For the students of the CHS Marching Band the marching arts are all about pride, precision, and passion. From band camp band and after school rehearsals to Friday night lights and competition Saturday's, our band, drumline, and guard represent Tiger spirit every step of the way.

We were honored to have Dr. William Talley, Director of Bands at Ohio University, join us for rehearsal as we prepare for district competition this coming Friday. Dr. Talley shared valuable insight and provided a wonderful opportunity to help our students continue to grow their musical education. Thank you to Dr. Talley for spending the evening with us!

Tonight our Concert Band proudly performed the three selections they’ll be taking to next week’s OMEA Large Group District Contest for an audience of family and friends. This preview performance gives our students valuable practice and meaningful feedback as they continue refining every detail. Our jazz band also took the stage performing four pieces they’ve been developing in class to challenge and stretch their musicianship. We are so proud of the growth, focus, and dedication from all of these students - we’re excited for next week!

The CHS Marching Band is looking for a passionate, creative, and dedicated Color Guard Director to lead and grow our visual program for the 2026-2027 season! Responsibilities include: • Attend band camp, rehearsals, football games, and competitions
• Collaborate with the Band Director and instructional staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team culture
• Support student growth in performance, confidence, and leadership Qualifications: • Experience in color guard (high school, collegiate, or independent)
• Ability to manage rehearsals effectively
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
