Bathroom Remodel

The main component of this remodel was replacing the existing bathtub with a walk in shower. While the archway above the shower added some character to the space, it also trapped moisture and steam, which wasn’t ideal for the bathroom environment.

We removed the arch, scraped the textured ceiling, removed the tub and replaced with a new easy entry walk in shower. New shower door, wainscoting, trim, vanity, mirror, flooring, and paint finished this one out.

Bathroom Remodel

This shower was a little out of the ordinary for us. We were tasked with building a shower with no glass (open entry) and not making it feel like a “tomb”.

Our client wanted the section of wall above the shower surround to not exist. The thought was it would make the shower feel more open/not trap moisture in the wet area and allow the exhaust fan to do its job more effectively.

We made this happen by installing 3x3 angle iron in the shower wall, running it down into the crawl space, and then bolting it to more angle iron that was attached to multiple floor joists (Think of an upside down “T”). This gave us the rigidity we were looking for with the “floating” shower wall, and gave our client the look they were looking for.

2ft x 4ft porcelain wall tile, hex mosaic shower pan tile, custom sized niche to fit the tile size, painted vanity, quartz countertop & quartz knee wall cap, plumbing fixtures, back lit vanity mirrors, fresh paint, and new flooring finished this one out.

Onto the next!

Bathroom Remodel

We approach the design process specific to each client. This client wanted an “exotic” piece of stone for their vanity countertop. We found the stone they were looking for, and knew it was going to be the statement piece for the bathroom. We worked alongside Superior Countertops (can’t say enough good things about the team there) to source this one of a kind piece of “Caribbean Blue” granite. Caribbean Blue is normally a very bright blue color. This slab was dark blue, dark green, and had black veining with gold fleck, truly making it one of a kind.

The bathroom vanity, walls, trim, and shower tile were all the same color/tone to “color drench” the rest of the bathroom. This allows the countertop, plumbing fixtures, and clients artwork to pop against a monochromatic background.

The client worked with us during the planning phase picking all of the finish materials, but once the work started, they requested that all progress be concealed, to have a big reveal at the end of the project. We installed our normal zipdoor to seal off the bathroom, but this time used solid black poly sheeting so you couldn’t see in. This was a first for us, but was awesome to reveal all the hard work once it was finished: in a tv show -esque moment.

Custom Shower Enclosure

We removed the existing shower enclosure and upgraded to a new sleek version.

Clients wanted to get rid of the sliding doors, and create a larger opening into their shower. This new pivoting shower door we spec’d out to 30in wide to allow ease of entry in/out of the shower.

These enclosures are not off the shelf units. We can customize finish colors, glass styles, and glass panel sizing (down to the 1/16) to truly get a one of a kind enclosure for your shower.

Deck

Our jobs mainly consist of all interior remodeling, but every now and then we make our way outside to work on a project. We built this deck for a family member, so I’ll get to enjoy this one often.

The deck is 18x10 “picture framed”, with 10ft of steps down to an existing concrete slab. We used cedartone deck boards to give a good look from the get go. The railing has aluminum spindles, and we topped it off with lighted post caps & tread lights.

We’ll be back to finish off the risers on the steps, and box in the base of the deck to seal out the neighborhood cat.

Back to our normally scheduled interior jobs tomorrow!

Bathroom Remodel

Layout stayed the same, but this bathroom got a full update. New floor, toilet, vanity, mirror, tiled shower surround, door, paint, refinished cast iron bathtub etc.

We custom built the shower niche to be exactly 1 full tile (12in x 24in). We based our tile layout off of the niche being in the center of the wall, thus giving the illusion that the niche tile was “pushed” back into the wall.

Paige tagged along with me on today’s install- It was a pivoting alcove door. Yesterday Chad & I installed a custom 3 piece pivoting door with a return panel and knee wall panel, and last week we installed a slider. We install all types!

Marble Tile Shower

Marble or any natural stone tile requires more long term maintenance than a man made product (like ceramic or porcelain), but there is no denying the high end look a natural stone gives.

This shower is tiled with Thassos polished marble. Thassos gets its name from the Greek island it is quarried from in the Aegean Sea, and is known for its white color with subtle veining/impurities. We created this shower with 3 different tile shapes/sizes, and built out a custom sized niche to maximize shower storage.

Marble is a “softer” stone- Check out the last picture to see how it goes sometimes with sourcing materials. We went through 3 different shipments across the midwest to finally have enough of the chair rail tile in hand to complete the shower. Even though a pain to source, the final product was well worth the wait.

Condo Repaint

Had some repeat clients reach out to us about repairing/repainting their new condo they were moving into.

We started by meeting with them the day they took possession to have a color consultation, and picked all of their new colors for the spaces. We then repaired quite a bit of drywall tape that had cracked or completely pulled away from the vaults at the ceiling to wall transitions, patched all of the holes/scuffs from previous owners, and then painted away.

Quick turn around on this as we were able to get the painting finished in between their closing, and move in date.

Big or small painting jobs, we have the team and knowledge to get it done right for each situation.

Bathroom Remodel

Layout all stayed the same, but changed up most everything else within this bathroom. A new shower with waterfall tile accent was top of the list. This shower had two niches- one for soap/storage, and the other as a foot rest.
