SCS will remain closed today due to the Level 3 snow emergency where I live. Hopefully things will be all clear tomorrow.

As I've done every year in the past, I will be closing early on December 24th (hours will be 9AM-Noon) and will remain closed until January 2nd of next year. My apologies for not being able to help during the holidays, but I'm sure you understand why.

Do you, or someone you know, have old VHS tapes you'd like digitized and saved in a format watchable on a computer? I offer that service!

The rate is $20/tape, plus the cost of the storage device required to transfer the data unless one is provided. The standard resolution at which the recordings are digitized is 1440x1080 @ 59.94fps.

It should go without saying that this can only be done to home-made videos, not commercially made tapes.

Also keep in mind that if you have a large amount of tapes it may take a while to get them back to you, as the recording has to be done in real-time. Any tapes that could harm my recording setup will likely be refused (if they are moldy, damaged, or modified in some way.)
