Cure SMA - OKI Chapter

Thank you to everyone who supported Cure SMA by attending the 23rd annual Walk-N-Roll. This past Saturday at Xavier, we had several hundred people come out and support the families living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Thank you to anyone who donated items for the Opportunity Drawings, donated money to the fundraising pages, or volunteered for the event itself. With everyone's help, we were able to raise $60,000 for Cure SMA! A BIG shout out to Party Go Round for the awesome carnival games, The Crazy Balloon Lady (Tammy Winn) for the balloon pillars, Magician Kristian Charles for your year-after-year committment to entertainment, Ricky Davis, Bella and Samuel Bauer and Taylor Price for your incredible musical talents. Thanks to the Cincinnati School of Rock Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for an hour of amazing talent! Thank you to Jen Dalton Local 12 News for your continued support as our emcee! Thanks to Michael Flannery for tag-teaming the emcee job with Jen! That was unexpected but AWESOME! Thank you to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden for bringing a reptile! Thanks to the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds for sending your mascot to entertain guests. Again, thank you to anyone who volunteered for this event. We can't do this without you! Finally, thanks for your continued support of all the kids and adults living with SMA and our SMA Angel families. We appreciate you!

Hello local SMA community! We have incredible momentum with our fundraising efforts leading in to the last month and a half before the Walk-N-Roll on May 30th! We have raised over $20,000, and on our way to the $50,000 goal!

If you've been to our event in the past, you've probably noticed the yard signs of pictures of our SMA kids/adults and angels. If your picture (or child's picture) needs to be updated or added, please send a high resolution pic to:

More treatment progress!

Scholar Rock has resubmitted its Biologics License Application (BLA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for apitegromab, an investigational therapy for spinal muscular atrophy.

Scholar Rock anticipates FDA acceptance of the BLA within 30 days of resubmission and a review period of up to six months from the date of resubmission.

Cure SMA will continue to monitor progress and share updates with the community.

Incredible news for the SMA Community!

Biogen today announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the High Dose regimen of SPINRAZA to treat people living with SMA. With broad label approval for all those living with SMA, this is an excellent result for the SMA community.

This FDA approval marks another important step forward in the ongoing effort to treat and manage SMA. The High Dose regimen of SPINRAZA has the potential to provide additional benefit for those currently receiving treatment, offering new possibilities for improved outcomes and quality of life. Cure SMA is committed to working closely with Biogen, healthcare providers, and the SMA community to support timely education and access to this new dosing option, in alignment with its approved use.
