"If I have to be on a medicine that is approved for my specific addiction for the rest of my life, I would rather do that than go through the hoops of being on the streets trying to find drugs."

Medication for addiction treatment (MAT) is a scientifically proven substance use disorder recovery option for those struggling with opioid or alcohol use disorders. These medications act on brain receptors to ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms, giving patients a more stable foundation to focus on recovery. Therefore, it is also considered a harm reduction tool for preventing relapse and overdose.

MAT doesn't need to be a permanent solution, but it’s a safe and effective option that can be used as long as needed, similar to medication for other health conditions. Some patients benefit from long-term use, while for others, it’s a helpful step toward long-term recovery.

What should you know about Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP) at BrightView Health?β˜€οΈ
1. OTPs provide a stigma-free environment for patients to pick-up their medications for addiction treatment.
2. Instead of needing to go to a separate pharmacy to pick-up their prescription, patients can easily access their medication at their local BrightView center where they are an established patient.
3. All of our OTPS are state licensed and certified.
4. Certified OTPs are the only place where individuals can receive medications for opioid addiction treatment.
5. All of our OTPs are accredited by either the Joint Commission or CARF.
