The Wildlife Loop Road: An 18-mile drive where you are almost guaranteed to encounter a "bison jam" with a portion of the park's iconic 1,300-strong free-roaming buffalo herd. Keep an eye out for pronghorn, elk, prairie dogs, and the famous "begging burros".
World-Class Scenic Drives: Navigate the tight turns and granite tunnels of the Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road (which frames Mount Rushmore perfectly through its wooden tunnels).
Sylvan Lake: Known as the "Crown Jewel" of the park, this stunning lake surrounded by jagged granite rocks serves as the starting point for the trek up Black Elk Peak—the highest point in South Dakota.
