While smaller and more intimate than some of the other Appalachian Community Grant Program projects, this beautiful setting will offer a truly remarkable experience:

Nestled along the river with breathtaking views of the Kentucky hills, Slim Sallee Park will be a place to relax, connect with nature, enjoy community events, and simply watch the river roll by.

This project is made possible through the Appalachian Community Grant Program, and it just happens to be one of the favorite river spots of Governor Mike DeWine and Fran DeWine. ❤️

The transformation is exciting to watch, and we can already see what a special destination this will become for Higginsport, Brown County, and visitors from across the region.

After sharing the time-lapse video, several people asked about the machine doing the work. These photos give a closer look at Prus Construction’s GPS-guided slip-form curb machine that is helping shape the new Ripley Riverfront.

🧱 Continuously forms concrete curb with amazing precision.

This technology allows crews to build miles of curb faster, more accurately, and more efficiently than traditional methods. Watching it work is a little like seeing a giant 3D printer creating concrete infrastructure right before your eyes.

A lot of exciting progress is happening on the Ripley Riverfront Revitalization Project, and it’s fascinating to see both the craftsmanship and the technology that make it possible.

🚧 Ripley Riverfront Project Update – Big Progress Along the Ohio River! 🌊

The transformation of Ripley’s riverfront continues to move forward at an impressive pace!

✅ The concession/restroom building slab has been poured, providing the foundation for one of the project’s key public amenities.

✅ Foundation piers and footers for the future amphitheater have been completed, marking another major milestone toward creating a vibrant gathering space for community events, music, and celebrations.

✅ The beautiful new waterfront plaza and promenade are nearing completion, with extensive concrete work now in place along the river’s edge.

✅ The impressive new stairway connecting Front Street to the riverfront is taking shape and already showcases the dramatic views visitors will enjoy.

✅ Along Front Street, new curbs have been installed, and sidewalk construction will soon follow, creating a safer and more attractive pedestrian experience.

The project is beginning to reveal what will become one of the most significant public spaces along the Ohio River. Every week brings visible progress toward a riverfront that honors Ripley’s history while creating new opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
