life lately:

-my home is my safe haven (& she looks so good at night!)
-yellow nails are carrying my serotonin levels 💅🏾
-working on floor plans from the couch (or the garden) makes me disproportionately happy
-goose is still running emotional support operations & coffee refills (don't ask me how he does it, y'all)
-GOOD design is inspiring me as always
-community is nourishing me in ways i didn’t expect
..and speaking my mind has apparently become a permanent character trait 😅

overall: inspired, a bit tired, grateful, & slightly feral.

🔍👁️ “Why Your Interior Designer Needs More Than a Good Eye”

Most people think design is about the sofas, wallpaper, or the finished aesthetic. It’s actually about the plumbing, the math of the human circulation, and public safety. If your Designer is asking the trades to reference lighting or outlet placement by pointing at a wall during a walk-through, instead of providing an Integrated Electrical Plan and RCP, they’re guessing at the math, not designing the space.

But not every room needs to energize you.

Some spaces are meant to quiet things down.
To soften the edges of your day.
& give you somewhere cozy to land.

This is where contrast does its best work—balancing light with depth so the room doesn’t feel flat, just restful. 🤍

We turned Tabytha’s room from “functional” to full blown queen energy...for our fave little lady.

The ceiling?? The layers?? The little personality moments everywhere??

Yeah, she’s never leaving this room again (and honestly we can't blame her). 🤣
