🤔Why 95% of Alaska is Empty? Alaska is a massive state. It is the biggest US state by land area which is almost 7 times the size of the United Kingdom. To put this into perspective, if Alaska were a country, it would rank as the 16th largest in the world only behind Mexico and Indonesia. However, despite being this massive in size, Alaska remains sparsely populated. A mere 0.2% of the U.S. population resides here. So, what the hell is actually going on here? You see, It’s brutally cold and rugged mountain ranges that's often Frozen with an average temperature ranging from zero degrees to negative 30 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes it difficult and challenging for infrastructure projects like building roads or railways.
