Freedom. Health. Equity.

Juneteenth commemorates the day enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a celebration of liberation, resilience, and Black excellence, while also serving as a reminder that the work of equity continues.

Health outcomes should never be determined by race, ethnicity, or zip code. Yet Black women continue to face disproportionate barriers to care, higher rates of maternal mortality, and persistent inequities across sexual and reproductive health.

At SHE+, we believe health equity is essential to freedom. Every person deserves access to respectful, evidence-based, culturally competent healthcare that supports their well-being and dignity.

Today, we honor Juneteenth by celebrating progress, acknowledging the work still ahead, and recommitting ourselves to a future where equitable healthcare is a reality for all.

We hear it all the time:

“It’s just bad cramps.”
“That’s normal.”
“Maybe it’s anxiety.”

But for many people living with endometriosis, those words can delay answers for years.

Research suggests that the average time to diagnosis is still 7–10 years. During that time, people miss school, cancel plans, call off work, avoid intimacy, and learn to push through pain that was never meant to be normal.

At SHE+, we believe a functioning life is not the benchmark for whether someone deserves care.

If your pain is interfering with your ability to live, work, love, or simply exist comfortably—you deserve to be heard.

You deserve answers.
You deserve relief.
You deserve to be believed.

Pride is more than a celebration, it’s a reminder that everyone deserves access to safe, affirming, and evidence-based healthcare.

This Pride Month, we’re highlighting why LGBTQIA+ sexual health is a public health priority. From barriers to care and provider bias to disparities in sexual health outcomes, these challenges are not inevitable, they are the result of systems that can and must do better.

At the SHE+ Foundation, we believe sexual health care should be inclusive, informed, and accessible to all. Advocacy means ensuring that every person can receive care that affirms who they are and supports their well-being.

Because sexual health shouldn’t come with shame. 💜

So many people avoid asking questions because they’re worried they’ll sound “inexperienced,” “embarrassed,” or “wrong.” The truth? Those are often the questions that matter most.

Yes, you can have an STI without symptoms. Regular testing isn’t about fear; it’s about caring for yourself and the people you love.

Save this for later, share it with a friend, and remember: asking questions is a sign of strength, not shame.

Health disparities aren’t about who people are—they’re about whether people can safely access the care they deserve.

This Pride Month, we’re sharing a few of the statistics that highlight why LGBTQIA+ affirming sexual healthcare matters. From routine STI testing to cancer screenings and HIV prevention, access to compassionate, evidence-based care improves outcomes for everyone.

Because sexual health belongs to all of us. 🌈

June is Men’s Health Month, and at SHE+ Foundation, we believe sexual health is a shared responsibility.

Women shouldn’t have to carry the entire burden of reproductive and sexual healthcare. When men prioritize prevention, testing, vaccination, and honest communication, everyone benefits.

Healthy partners build healthy families. 💙

Research today becomes healthcare tomorrow.

At SHE+, every dollar invested in women’s sexual health research helps build a future where women—and the generations after them—don’t have to suffer in silence.

Funding this work isn’t just about today. It’s about making sure our daughters, granddaughters, and future generations have better answers, better care, and better outcomes.

We cannot deliver good care without research.
And we cannot do research without funding.

Help us move women’s health forward.

Support SHE+. Fund the work. Fund the future.

We talk about pregnancy. We celebrate birth. But too often, we go silent about what comes after.

Maternal mental health conditions are among the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth, yet the majority of women experiencing them go untreated.

In the U.S., 1 in 5 women will experience a maternal mental health condition, including postpartum depression, anxiety, birth trauma, PTSD, intrusive thoughts, panic disorders, and emotional disconnection. But reducing maternal mental health to only “postpartum depression” misses the full reality so many women are living.

The crisis isn’t just clinical, it’s systemic. Lack of screening, stigma, limited access to care, and the pressure to appear “grateful” or “fine” leave too many mothers suffering in silence.
Support after birth is healthcare.

Mental health is maternal health.

We cannot keep treating survival like success.

Research like this only happens when people choose to fund what has been ignored for far too long.

Because of your support, over $171,000 was dispersed to the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons across three payments to help complete the VULVIE Trial, a randomized controlled study examining vulvar fractionated CO2 laser therapy with and without topical clobetasol for the treatment of Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus (VLS).

VLS is chronic, painful, underdiagnosed, and too often dismissed. Patients deserve more than symptom management—they deserve evidence, options, and better standards of care.

This is what impact looks like:
funding research,
advancing treatment,
and changing lives.

Your support helps move women’s sexual health forward.
