Hello, AC season. Before you cool down, make sure your air conditioner is set up safely. Plug window air conditioners directly into a wall outlet.

Many manufacturers do not allow extension cords. If they are allowed, use the proper type and follow the manufacturerโ€™s instructions.

Move Over: It's the Law
In 19 states and Washington, DC, laws include moving over for all vehicles with flashing or hazard lights, such as: law enforcement, EMS, fire, highway maintenance, construction, utility, trash, and disabled vehicles.

When a vehicle with flashing lights is stopped on or next to a roadway, drivers approaching the vehicle should:

change into a lane not immediately adjacent to the vehicle, or
slow down to a reasonable speed if youโ€™re unable to safely make a lane change.
